Probably not, but if they copy the old system used in BF2 it'll at least be tolerable. If they go with the extreme unlock progression featured in Bad Company 2, though...
Quit over-exaggerating about BC2's unlock system. "Extreme" my arse. Provided that you played a class properly, it only takes a few short hours to unlock everything related to that class.
Fucking Angry Internet Men with your hyperbole. You usually look like colossal morons, thanks to your often factual inaccuracies and general ignorance.

Battlefield 2142, you start with basic equipment and can unlock more as you rank up. You can play any class, and apply unlocks towards another class. The equipment you start with is all useful.
Call of Duty 4-6, you start with useful perks and unlock replacements. In World at War, Stopping Power and Juggernaut, two of the starting perks, are among the most used. You get replacements, not upgrades.
In Bad Company 2, you start lacking critical equipment, although admittedly it doesn't take long to unlock. Then there are specializations and other equipment, though, that take much longer to unlock. I've put 35 hours into the game, according to Steam, and still have not unlocked body armor, magnum ammunition, explosives Mk2, shotgun slugs, or other unlocks that I frequently see in the killcam. I can't think of another game where anyone with up to 35 hours of playtime has to contend with enemies that get straight-up damage or health boosts with no drawbacks, and this fact tends to become annoying around the fifth time I find myself killed by a Carl Gustav with Expl Mk.2.
Bad Company 2's system is fundamentally different from the unlock systems of most multiplayer shooters, and it does promote imbalance between new players and maxed-level characters more than any other Battlefield or CoD game. That isn't hyperbole.

You can change!

Why would I need Change? I'm white.

that doesn't change the fact that you live in a ghetto of a developing nation.

Jesus Christ. We're picking on where we each live now?
So, Battlefield 3...looks good. I still find 2 highly playable, and hope they don;t stray too awful far from the formula.

If they bring back the sound engine from BC2, I'm sold.
