Well, there is territory that hasn't been done to death. East Europe would be a good setting for a US vs Russia game a la Ghost Recon.
HL2, stalker, modern warfare, raindrop, metro 2033, obviously ghost recon, operation flashpoint

HL2, Stalker, Metro, and Raindrop are hardly the same sort of open warfare. As far as plausible settings go for a Battlefield-esque game, east Europe is probably the least used.

Well, if that's your only criteria (it hasn't been done in a Battlefield-esque game) then why not Los Santos?:tsktsk:

Plausible settings. Otherwise we can throw in the Australian outback, Antarctica, and the surface of the Moon.

DICE released the full (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zw8SmsovJc&feature=channel_video_title) 12min Fault Line GDC presentation of the SP component and it looks mighty impressive, despite being pre-alpha footage. PC is the lead platform and the demo was captured from a PC with a Nvidia GTX580.
Hopefully they unveil the MP around E3, with a bang.

PC is the lead platform
Oh I'm sure

Somehow, I suspect Koki wasn't talking about graphics. Or if he was, he'd counter-argue that he did in fact mean the gameplay.
I've seen a non-QTE 'drag a comrade away to safety' event, the ability to go prone, and bugger-all HUD crosshairs, though, so it looks like DICE is doing this one right on all counts.
EvaUnit02 on 17/4/2011 at 11:36
@Sulphur. Yeah, there's a difference between a game being designed for a particular hardware platform vs. a specific gaming audience.
This discussion is about the latter and technical implementation, not gameplay.
Koki on 17/4/2011 at 11:50
Oh. I thought the discussion was about (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVsT4D2_VTI) the blatant limitations when designing console games and that anyone who says "PC is our primary platform" about a multi-platform game is outright lying.
