An iOS game worth making a thread for...
But apparently not worth naming in the thread title.
A winner is not you.

Despite being a dick about it, ZB has a valid point. You should really edit the thread title to include the name of the game ( Double-click next to . In-descriptive thread titles do no one any favours.
As for iOS RPGs, The Shadow Sun is well worth keeping your eye upon.

It's being developed by Ossian Studios, who're best known for their NWN premium modules.

Eva, I just looked at the poll on their site and it made me  so hard (especially in conjuction with my recent thread bitching about rpgs):
Quote:
What attracts you the most about The Shadow Sun? The fast and dynamic combat system.
The dark heroic fantasy setting.
The versatile character creation system.
The fact that your choices affect the story.
The cast of companions who can join the party.
so just like every single other rpg ever made?
also I bet "choices affecting story" means people start their conversation "you saint" or "you asshole!" and then proceed as normal.

Thank you ZB. This is a pet peeve of mine. I especially despise 'clever' thread titles that are too cool to mention the game title.

Its target platform is the fucking iOS, it'd be naive to expect the a revolution of innovation in the RPG genre, or some such shit. iOS games are typical low budget titles from indie developers. Sure, there's plenty of supposedly "innovative" on the platform, but most of it seems to be snore-inducing Shadowcat fodder. Go-go indie physics puzzle titles and hipster platformers! If you're after a traditional genre-based PC style RPG on a portable platform, I'd rather something solid to play from an experienced developer, TBH (not Gameloft's IP infringement shovelware of the week though).
My mobile platform of choice is PSP, but that's just my preference. I'm the type that actually wants to play home console quality games on the move. That's mainly why the original DS didn't appeal to me, the bulk of the most highly regarded games for adults seem to be Visual Novels and weaboo Adventure games. I'm mainly looking forward to PSP2 because it has a fucking analogue stick. I'll be all over it once it's been through its inevitable hardware revision; fallen a bit in price; and has been hacked, so that I can play ripped ISOs of my 100% UMD-based PSP1 game library.

this thread is bad and everyone in it should feel bad
but "snore-inducing Shadowcat fodder" is a quality zing that needs attention drawn to it
Shadowcat on 22/2/2011 at 06:48
Thus far "Shadowcat fodder" has ranged from "fairly decent" to "snore-inducing" according to EvaUnit. I keenly await the next "quality zing" in this on-going series.

You mean the other thread you made about iPad games wasn't actually worth making?
