I ran into this video rather randomly. I was pleased by how terrifying it turned out to be. Horror is a subject I like to flesh out, being someone who has been playing FPS since an early age, I've grown accustomed to jump scares and deamons. Browsing gore videos online I am accustomed to gore. So how do I provide myself with horror? I tend to avoid horror movies that feature little girls or things of that nature, because I just cant buy it. I'm not gonna run from a 4' ghost, I dont care how much it screams the fact that I can kick it in the face so easily makes me kinda meh about the idea. Nor can I relate to movies were the protagonist is female, no matter what age, because I'm a guy, and I cant relate to that. I think: "yeah well, shes gotta run but if I were there I'd knock that fucker out." However, childhood is something relatable. The horrors of your imagination as a child is something we've all experienced, and therefore it is a good medium for an avatar in distressing situations. It creates a world where you can believe the horror your character feels, specifically because you have felt it before, and because you can empathize with the characters as you were once them.
So enough psychoanalysis, check it out:

Looks neat. I wonder what the goal would be.

Maybe finding your parents?
Tip: Don't mention on a date how you cannot relate to women protagonists. Since they are weak and soft and cannot stand their own like us, women put great emphasis on understanding the feelings of others.
(I never played a game where simply replacing the female protagonist with a male would nullify the threat.)

I thought it was clever, since sneaking gameplay gets an edge when you feel vulnerable. I scripted out a few ideas back in the day of sneaking games as animals, predators or prey, and this sort of reminds me of what I had in mind.
The other thing this reminds me of is whenever I watch some movie or tv show where the guy is in a wheelchair and something is after him, and inevitably he flies out of his chair and has to crawl and hide while the thing is coming looking for him, and you can feel the tension. And I thought somebody should make, maybe not a whole game, but a level or two like this.

So the real horror begins when you find them having sex?
june gloom on 11/6/2012 at 09:48
No, the real horror is the realization that your parents had to have had sex in order to have YOU.

I have to say, that does look intriguing. I am wondering if the novelty might wear off after some time though.
