Been out of the loop for a while... - by WNxScythe

I had to stop playing computer games for a year and half (it's along story involving tendonitis), and anyways Thief 3 was among the games I shelved before I could even finish it, or make it to the infamous cradle level. So now I'm starting again from scratch.
Since I haven't been keeping up with community updates at all, what's out there now? I'm looking for the best AI/difficulty mods... what should I get? Also, I remember there being some sort of lockpicking mod that made it more difficult, where can I find it? Basically I want whatever mods make this game more challenging (by making things more realistic, and AI more challenging)
Finally, are there any community based missions being made? I recall that the editing tools were eventually released. Did that Thief mod of Doom 3 ever game to fruition? Did "Thief 2.5" (don't know what it was actually called... basically a community made full length campaign) ever get finished?
Thanks a lot.

you'll be pleasantly delighted.
thief2x is finished and it's great. version 1.1 should be out soon.
the dark mod is still being worked on, but it's looking good.
check out the minimalist mod for thief 3 (which is practically a whole new patch, really) and johnp's texture package.

Does the minimalist mod have AI improvements?

Thanks dude... should I patch before I stick on these mods?

yes indeedy. patch thief 2 before installing thief2x, and patch thief 3 before installing minimalist and the texture pack.
