Yeah, let's actually do that!
Subj - in England, I don't actually know. They make it near Jena, where I work in Deutschland, and you can barely move for the stuff. It is wicked though. I absolutely love german black lagers.

I've never had Fischer, Larry G, but I've had plenty of NBA and I think it only comes second to Carling in the horrible rankings. I used to drink it as a student because it was cheap in the bars near halls, but I've tried it every now and again over the years and everytime I think "what
were you thinking? the folly of youth!"
Yes, itt you mention some British catastophy of a drink and I instruct you on the error of your ways. :p
Maybe they save the good tasting NBA for the export market? IDK. Maybe it's the same, but still just so much better than American beers, it seems good by contrast?
I also like this as an everyday beer. German immigrants to Mexico in the late 1800's I think.

I really like Newcastle Brown Ale too. :)
Tried an Indian beer called Chakra tonight. Really good, smoky-tasting, good aftertaste. Also picked up a bottle of something called Fuller's Discovery from the beer shelf. Brewed in London, haven't tried it yet.

I forgot to mention, when I went to Vientiane a few weeks ago somebody introduced me to Beerlao Dark. It's apparently close to the "national" beer of Laos, and Laotians are apparently very proud of it. (There are a few varieties). The dark is next to black, really smooth (if not thick exactly), and rather sweet for a beer. After like 15 hours of busrides and shlepping around Vientiane in the summer heat all day for the visa run, it was like cold black ambrosia. I really, really liked this beer.
