hello,
do the tweaks suggested in technical sticky thread work on 64 bit Xp or Vista?
will Thief series and System Shock work there?
thanks

I have Vista 64 and play TG and T2 without major problems. Two issues that I didn't have before in XP32 are the lack of fog (mostly a Vista issue, there is a possible fix being discussed in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125485) this thread), and the fact that most times when I return to game mode from a book or menu screen, my gamma gets reset to a low level and I have to hit + or - to make it jump back to where I had it. But other than that there is no problem getting it running using imagecfg and/or DDFix.

I'm running under XP 64 and have had no real problems with T2, and all tweaks for the Widescreen and what not all work fine. I don't think you'll have any serious problems.

Seconded, I've never had any problems with any of the three Thief games running on XP x64. The only major issue I have had (and still have) is that videos in T1/T2 do not play when the games are run as a non-administrator, that however has happened to me on 32-bit XP too.

Same here, thief 1+2 work fine in vista x64, I can't get the videos to work though.. does anyone have a solution for this?

Which of the solutions in the FAQ have you tried already?:)

I don't remember, I just played without cut scenes for the past half year...
I do remember trying to register LGVID.AX like this:
Type regsvr32 "c:\your\path\to\thief\LGVID.AX" where c:\your\path\to\thief\ matches your own path.
but they never worked...

If it's not in your Thief folders already, copy iv5play.exe off one of your Thief discs (Disc 2 for TMA) and run it, or just run it from the CD. If it works, cool. Expect to have to run it before you play, so create a shortcut if you need to.

In Vista64, I have to run Thief as an admin to see movies. I set the .exe in my Play folder to always run as admin.

I'll try that... except my pc is a little messed up, I'm running winxp till I get my Mainboard back from asus....
Is there a way to install that codec permanently? or a specific vista version?
