Hey guys. I'm dabbling in some stock, as I have been for years but I never really got my shit together and collected a set of good tools to trade with so I'm starting to smarten up and build a proper portfolio based on chart analysis and proper monitoring tools. To that end I thought I'd ask to see if anyone already uses or knows of a good widget or application I can run on my PC at home. The critical elements for me are as follows:
Needs to have some sort of compressed toolbar where I can look at everything in my tracker list at a glance (either a small window/bar or in the windows tray) and see the activity of the stock live
Needs to work on XP
Needs to have a nice chart view where I can easily view different timespans, apply statistical indicators like moving averages, MACD, RSI, Bollinger Bands, Volume, Fibonacci levels, Aroon, etc. and be able to view it all in an intuitive and graphically robust way.
Not a must have (I'll look elsewhere for a more dedicated tool) but would be nice if you could do a filtered search through an index for stocks that satisfy certain criteria like P/E ratios or dividend yields or buy/sell signals, etc.
The key is ease of use. I could look up all of the above things for a given stock given enough time but I want something where I can save how I like a chart to show up and have it show that way every time with my favourite indicators ready to go. That way I can flip back and forth between half a dozen stocks in 5 minutes and have an idea of what they are all doing and which ones are reaching key levels.
Thanks for the advice.

nobody wants your spam

What? Wanna explain to me how asking for advice on which stock tracking program to use is any different than any other question (like which photo editing software should I use?). Plus, you and I have been around for a while. When have you known me to troll (intentionally anyway)?

chill man, i'm fucking with you, that header you picked is pretty spamtastic

Oh...
See that's why I put "intentionally". I didn't think of it that way when I wrote it but if I were soliciting, I can see how it would look like spam. Figures...

Ha-ha, I thought it was spam, too, when I saw the title. Opened the thread expecting to see "new member" beneath the name. It's exactly the sort of title that a spambot would use to unapologetically throw his shady links in our faces. Thanks for the laugh, fellows.
Sorry, no, I don't have any advice about stocks. Don't know anything about them. I kept my money out of the stock market back when everyone was advising me to invest in it. I didn't trust it. Turns out I was right. Not that I had that terribly much to lose in it, but still ...

The market is very unpredictable but all we can ever hope to do is trade the trends (when a trend forms). The good news is you can make money in a bull or a bear market.
Anybody got a suggestion? :(

Nope, but if you land something good let me know!

I got Qfolio on my iPad but I don't think it has all the advanced options you want, Rocketman. Nor is it on the system you want. Uh...
