How can I make T1/T2 look the best they can, using all the available custom patches?
I want to play some custom missions and have just reinstalled and patched Thief1. I've added Orgys patch and done the mesh upgrade too, also installed dds and bloom patch on it. Now I've heard of NTEX dds Texture Pack and Thief Enhancement Pack3 and am wondering how I can add them or if it is possible given the other stuff I've added, or if any of it would be redundant.
The last thing I tried was to add the new high quality lightgem and that's when T1 broke, so I had to restore the obj folder. I dont want fumble around like this, and hopefully the info here can be added to the technical thread.
If anyone can help, I need to know what should be installed, in what order, and if any of the customisations are redundant - the last patch I knew about was Orgys texture patch, so I don't really know what some of the newer stuff is.
I'm on dual core AMD, Geforce 7800.
Cheers!

Well, for graphics stuff there is (and jtr7's link should help you):
[] DDFIX - that's for fixing actual graphical problems with thief like no fog in thief 2....
[] Thief Enhancement Pack - Updates the
objects for thief 1/G/2 (higher poly objects)
[] NTEX - For thief 2 only. Requires ddfix AFAIK (utilizes ddfix's high-res world geometry patch)
[] Daemonite's model patch for Thief 1; no need to repeat this stuff.....
[] Orgy's texture patch for thief 1; again, no need to repeat.....
[] Widescreen patch - not really a graphics patch, but if you have a widescreen monitor you may want to try this patch.
I think that covers all the "make thief look better" patches. Since you said you have not installed the (

My guess is you are referring to Digital Nightfall's CoSaS lightgem pack. I'm not sure what you mean by "t1 broke," what exactly happened after you "installed" the new lightgem?
Oh, and you may want to check out this post (

Also makes Thief 1 run in 32-bit colour, which makes it look
a lot better - the colours look less blotchy and washed out when you're not limited to 16-bit colour.

This patch's name is a bit of a misnomer. It also lets you run at unsupported non-widescreen resolutions, e.g. 1400x1050.
Oh, and the Thief EP works fine with Thief 1. The only issue is that I never made updated torch models for Thief 1, so you'll still see the old ones there. That's about it.
