It doesn't change that Garrett's Revenge is my favorite mission of 1999. Plus it was released first before Errand Boy.
In your heart it is the winner then already ;)

i voted
out of the missions listed i see 2 that have so much game play compared to what is highest voted
i don't even see how this is worth doing, everyone who has been around already knows what is popular and new people will be pushed away from trying more obscure missions
this by no way shows what is best, and i am not trying to be sour but bad idea in my view
I agree. I just needed to see the first mission in the list, to understand who the winner is gonna be.
And another thing comes to my mind, i had a conversation with another member here who said something, that it seems as some authors are put on a very high pedestal and cannot do anything wrong.
So... its gonna be so "exciting" to see who the winners will be. I'm sure that i'm gonna be very surprised.

I think you guys are too hasty. This is only the first of many polls. T2 year 2017 we will have godbreaker vs. death cold embrace vs. behind closed doors, all 3 from very high pedestal authors. You gonna show me the future and tell me who will win this? ;)

Psych0sis once told me that we shouldn't stress over mission ratings too much and I agree with him. Everyone has their own subjective taste (for example I'm a Dark Project freak and I hardly ever play any T2 FMs), so it's better to keep these best mission polls "just for fun" or maybe to give newbies a very general idea about what they should play first. However, I would recommend an external voting site of that purpose so that more FMs could be included.

Yeah I disagreed with a few of the lower ratings on (

I was thinking about that, but dont you think that more than 20 missions in one poll will be too much? I for myself am really going through all the missions of a poll and if there were like 50 missions in one poll I´d feel crushed by the amount and actually not gonna play through the missions, I´d feel more like it was work to have to go through all of them and it´d take the fun away.
Azaran, in the end a rating will always be just an opinion of people and always be subjective. I think it´s nice to show your support, even for lower ranked missions :)

Hero Quest and Knockout Dart got one point each. :cheeky:

Samantha you could use an external site for next Sunday's poll and run the 1999 contest a second time, then everyone could see whether they prefer you choosing what you think was the best 20 missions released that years or prefer having to choose from twice or three times as many missions, a discussion of preference would follow and we could continue from there. It may work or you may be right, there maybe just too many missions to choose from.
I haven't looked at any external poll site but some of them may allow you to vote on a scale of 1-10, would of course make mission harder to choose, but at the moment people only have the choice of voting for 1 mission in each poll.

We could do that.. but if we have 48 missions in the 1999 poll, we'd have to let it run at least a month. Theres no way people can play through all those missions in just two weeks..
What do you guys think?
