Yes i have realized that.
No i cannot tell you who is gonna be the "winner" there, but you could save yourself and the voters some time and skip the rest this year.
For obviously reasons i'm not even gonna look at the upcoming polls :)

I´m getting the feeling you completely miss the point of this poll. It is not about who wins and who doesn´t, it is for bringing the missions back to the players and introduce them to new players.
I understand if you are not in the mood to even play this missions since they are old, but there are others that do and I think thats a pretty nice thing. They may be old but they shouldnt be forgotten.
I for myself had only played 2 of the missions before this poll and so far I really enjoyed playing through them. If possible I try to play one mission per day. And I´m sure to others they bring back good memories.
So why skip them? Just because you dont want to play them, it doesnt mean others aren´t doing it. Let me ask: Did you even play through all of the 20 missions listed above? Do you remember every single one of them? I dont think so.
The only reason why I hesitate to put all missions from a year into one poll is because there are so many it´d feel crushing imo. I think I would feel so crushed that I´d not play through them after all.

I have played all the missions, not just the ones in the poll. No, i do not remember them all.
I think, maybe i'm wrong, that a lot of the players are gonna vote for the FMs that the recognize, the "famous" ones. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, but i know how most of the people "think".
If other people think that this game is good, then it must be so. Therefor i think that too. They does not form their own opinion.
Maybe i sound politically incorrect now, and that's because i'm that way. Here in Sweden people do not think for themself, they do as everyone else. But maybe we shouldn't discuss politics in this poll :)
And hopefully i'm wrong. That not all of the people in the world is as the folks here in Sweden, most of us anyway.

Well, I dont know about the people in sweden, but Im pretty sure many here in the forum see the Fun in this. I can only speak so far for me and for fortuni, but I thought others think so too.
Maybe a solution for example would be to just phrase the poll differently. Not "best FM of..." but rather "your favourite FM of...". You think that´d be sth. good or you still think a poll is not good?
I have to say, so far we only got complains and negative feedback to the poll. Fortuni and I did alot of work working on those polls, so if it´s not appreciated at all, I will not continue with them after all. Which I think is kinda sad, cause I felt like it´d bring some good old fanmissions back to the community:(

But... don't mind me :) I don't want to spoil anything, if i don't already done that. I'm just a grumpy old man sometimes. I just say what's on my mind, and sometimes is negative.
I don't think everyone is negative. See how its go with this one and then decide. There have been some votes.

I like this idea of a "filtered" poll for each year. This is a "nice" problem to have as we see a decline in published missions.
I also have no problem to vote for each year - and why should I? So even if I like three or four fantastic missions I will either know which one I ranked higher or which stayed in my mind the best.
As I replayed my favorites at least twice by now, sometimes more, I have a pretty good idea which one I would rate on the top spot regardless of the year (I don't know which mission came out in which year off hand so I will trust the poll).
If I can't remember missions (and yes, there are those, too) I won't vote for them. Simple as that.
As I have only one vote and many people vote there'll be a ranking, obviously, and I see this as a good tool to see which missions a new player should tackle next. Perhaps the top three of each year?
In short: Bring it on! :cool:

This poll recalls in my mind how few FMs I really know. According to my XLS notes only three FMs made in 1999 ... :rolleyes:
So I've chosen one of them since I won't be able to play them all in the remaining time. :angel:

Ah finally some positive feedback, so the poll is not for nothing after all :)
Zappen, thats so great! It´s exactly what we intended with the poll :D even older FMs should not be forgotten and like this we might be able to liven them up abit again :angel:
And next poll will run for 2 weeks, maybe you will be able to play 1-2 missions more then after all:p

I like these polls, in time they should serve as a starting point for people who venture into the Fan Missions by year.
One suggestion to consider: Make the 20th entry be 'Other', and have people state what their choice is, and perhaps even back it up with arguments. It's a way to circumvent the 20-entry limit on the poll, at least.
(It also means you're giving the vote to the public, which may choose very differently from the curated list of FMs.)
