Number 1:
Fort Ironwood. I lured a zombie up from the catacombs and the two hammerite guards and the priest started doing away with it. In the process the priest's spell accidentally killed one of the guards hammering the zombie and a second later the zombie falls to the floor. Then the surviving hammerite shouts "Murderer!" and proceeds to hammer his priest to the ground. At that point another hammerite guard had entered the room a little late for the zombie bashing party but well in time to witness the priest biting a hammer. The newly arriver guard then shouts "Die, murderer!" and assaults the priest-killer and kills him quickly. Then there's yet another hammerite guard at the door and again a murder is avenged with blood. After bringing down the latest in this string of murders at Fort Ironwood the last hammerite standing takes a look at the pile of corpses lying at his feet and goes "Nooooo... murder!"
Number 2:
Near the end when the statues are walking all over the city streets one gargoyle walks and holds his head up looking... majestic. And completely ignoring the guard jumping on its back, stabbing the statue with his sword and shouting things like "Runnin' away are we!?" "What's that? Have nothing to say?". Then at the end of the statue's patrol route it turns around and notices the guard for the first time, gives him a good slap and walks over the corpse saying "Killed and killed and killed you" sounding a bit bored. The whole situation happened very fast and left me speechless for a moment. It was kinda absurd.
Also most of the time when the Keeper Enforcers or Gamall & The Statues were roaming the streets I didn't quite know if I should laugh or cry. They were all funny as hell but I didn't really want either of them to be funny.

There was a guard upstairs in a room by himself in the second mission. He was acting really meek and afraid. I snipes him from the dark. As he fell he said "Nobody likes me!"
That same level at the very beginning there was a guard outside carrying a torch. As he walked by I shot him with a water torch. The torch went out and it got him all wet. Was hilarious!

My favorite was this part;
In the last part where you have to slip past the stone guards to place the artifacts, I was about to blackjack one when a pagan came around the corner and started to cast at it. Needless to say he smashed her to bits, but another one had joined in the fight halfway through. For some reason the golem was ignoring her, walking away saying "all is quiet now" while she wailed on him with her sword yelling "I bees killing you mansy! Yous will be deadsy!" (or something to that effect).
The ending also was awesome. Harks back to thief 1, and hopefully introduces Zaya from T2X, if I am correct.
Loved this game. Now to dig through my CD's and reinstall Thief 1 and 2 again :)

That would be nice, but no. ;)
T2x is set somewhere around the same time as Thief 2. The timeframes are somewhat concurrent, anyway. Unless fett's gone and lost the plot bible and scrawled something utterly insane on a scrap of toilet paper AGAIN.

Time for a thread necromancy! I've started replaying Thief 3, and I'm currently in St Edgar's church. Well, I noticed a grate that I hadn't seen before, and decided to just jump up there and investigate. The guards noticed, and so I had 4 Hammerites running around after me, and suddenly I hear:
"Where dost thou run to...WITH MY HAMMER?!" :joke:
It must have been 2 different phrases spoken sequentially, because I certainly wasn't carrying a hammer at the time. The latter part was probably a generic Hammerite attack cry.
Shortly afterward, I was wall-hugging to hide from a patrolling Hammerite in the factory area (near the bellows interchange, outside the reliquary). As he passed me, he turned his head to look right at me, and said "Greetings, brother!" What the hell? There was no other Hammerite nearby, and this mission was before the whole faction thing came into play.

It's ALWAYS fun to shoot a moss arrow and someone, and watch them gag and cough. In fact, it's a good substitution for a flash bomb sometimes.
I was moss arrowing a corner stone for the Pagan's just as a civilian was walking by. He was a bit too close though and doubled over gasping and coughing for air. This went on for about 10 seconds and then another civilian wandered over. The first guy, suddenly stops coughing, turns his head and greets the second guy - even though he's still doubled over.
The hair of the Keeper women is actually tranlucent. If they are between you and a strong light source you can actually see their head.
When the jeweler is trying to talk his way out of being killed by the thugs he ripped off - it almost sounds like the game is offering you the chance to leap in and save him since the thugs are saying that nobody is going to leap out and come to his rescue.

Not really comedic material but I thought the conversation between the two silver nugget thieves in the South Quarter Pagan sanctuary was kinda' funny.
The two guards playing a card game on the table at the Widow Moira mission was funny too.
"Aw taff"
"What? What is it?"
"I just won for you that's what"
"Harr harr! Pay up Mortimer! Er... so what did I win?"
*gets up and leave*

The funniest moment for me was when i pickpocketed the rich merchants walking around the clocktower in Stonemarket Proper (the bald ones wearing robes).
They said:
"What, someone pickpocket me?!?! THE UNMITIGATED GALL!!!

this has probably been said already but the funniest part for me was when I went to the docks to place whatever artefact I needed to place there, and Gamall heard me and started running around trying to find me, ran into some crates and fell off the pier into the water. Was hilarious.
