But when it comes to 'Does she care about her new family, now the evil do-ers have them?', they go "Eh, let's just forget they exist now altogether".
You really thought Wiegler did anything but kill them? A) She told them a hell of a lot about both Hanna and herself in order to get where Hanna was going. B) She told them all obviously conflicting stories, if she released them and they compared notes, they'd have even more incentive to talk to cops about what the hell happened. C) Sinister-likes-them-young-German is whistling and another is dancing in on top of the containers in a shoutout to Clockwork Orange. They're dead. Probably in ways far too grisly for a PG-13 movie. Nothing to rescue.

I figured it was likely, but they didn't make anything concrete out of it. It actually seemed like the only reason they were doing them separately was because Weigler was there now and the most ruthless method they could think of (probably involving torturing them in front of each other to make them talk) wasn't going to cut it. If she gets too close to the action this time and leaves a trail she risks being found out.
Whatever happened they made nothing of it and it's a big hole in the story. It may have been hacked out for the rating, but a major story arc just stops and is ignored from then on.
(and then the clever ruthless bastard goes on to act like a fucking idiot, swinging a pipe at an established badass twice his size)

This thread reminds me I still haven't watched The Artist or Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Others that I caught up with in the last little while: Young Adult was interesting and frustrating in equal measures. The Descendants was excellently done, but didn't leave me with anything.
I don't think I'll ever get around to watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as I just cannot be bothered. And Hanna ... not interested.

Cue dethtoll and Scots Taffer calling me pretentious for liking the quirkiness of Hanna over 2011 blockbuster drivel like Inception or Tintin or forgettable snacks like Midnight in Paris and X-Men.
It's the "drivel" part that earns the pretentious label. And anyway you liked Alien Resurrection over Aliens, your taste in cinema is clearly suspect.

Hanna's ok. It's actually not as "Junior Bourne " as they made it out to be. I guess now you know it doesn't wrap itself up as well as it might. Blanchett is nice and evil.
Girl with... is apparently just a more expensive version of the original. Nothing major added or changed. It's such a Norwegian story you might as well see the original really.

Eugh. I usually like Blanchett, but I hated her in
Hanna. I've mentioned before that I thought the tone was all over the place, and both she and her evil sidekick (played by Tom Hollander) were pretty much panto villains - which may work in a panto, but in this film it didn't work for me. Blanchett has one strong scene, mind you, but even there her fake, over-the-top accent grates IMO.

Agree with your assessment of the film, if not with your geography. :p

Ok sorry, it's such a Finnish story, geez.
Aaaanyway, Yeah the baddies in Hanna were pretty hammy in places. If they had moustaches they would twirl them. But there's parts where Weigler is scary and recognisably human from time to time. I appreciated having a decent actress in the role there

It's Swedish.

Ah, y'all look alike.

Sorry, should have mentioned I've seen the original Girl movie hence why I'm not interested in a very close remake.
