Try mentioning a game that requires a video card.
Shakey-Lo on 10/4/2009 at 06:51
Is that a prerequisite to being good

Judging by his original post Brethren is looking for something that'll put his videocard to work. Spelunky does not fall under that category.

Only good games which don't require video card are from Japan obviously

what the fuck are you babbling about now
Koki on 10/4/2009 at 07:02
Oh, you know. Some of my general dislike for you, some of the fact that you're replaying Cave Story right now and then you bitch about Spelunky's graphics which are essentially identical.
The usual.

I realize English isn't your first language but even Polish people can't be
this dumb.

Dwarf Fortress must be pretty shit in that case.

Many of the best PC games that have come out in the past few years are free online ones that you probably already played, like Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden and Gravity Bone. Likewise (but in the paid category), I'd recommend the Sam & Max seasons, Audiosurf and World of Goo.
This is pretty much why I haven't upgraded my computer - sure, it runs Crysis a bit slow, but there just aren't that many graphically intense games that I strongly desire to play.
Your topic makes me realize that there aren't any "mainstream" PC games that I absolutely recommend buying that have come out in the last few years, except Dreamfall and The Orange Box, both of which are available for consoles. Bleh.
