I enjoyed it better. It was a Straight up Shooter without all the Force monkey business. It was the first FPS I ever played where you character could jump and crouch and that had mission objectives rather than "flip the switch"
I've still got my original copy of it.

You are aware that the Ravener was designed for the release of the 3rd Ed. Tyranids in 2001, long after the release of Starcraft?
Huh, you're right. But it doesn't make the rest of my argument any less valid.

I loved the force monkey business, but anyway DF1 had a real charm. It's a doom engine game. Hmm, its also freeware, avalable off of fileplanet no less. I suppose that makes it easy to try. No doomsday support though, too bad.

No it's not.

We did the "who ripped off who" thread ages ago did we not? And Jashin will cum in his pants at the chance to threadwank about starcraft, which we also did not so long ago.
The closest game to Starcraft that I can think of would be Red Alert 2 maybe? Not just the 2d graphics but its more of the same, which seems to be what Starcraft fans are all about.
I'd advise any RTS fan to try DoW, and the expansions too, not so much with Soulstorm, though it was amusing for a short while.

Don't used a word like cum together with gaming. What's wrong with you?
TTLG is pretty much devoted to singleplayer and maybe some casual multiplayer so I'm not surprised people would argue so adamantly about 2 categories of games as if they're for the same demographic. Just a word of advice: Don't knock it when you don't know it.
For the purpose of playing and just having fun without breaking a sweat, play DoW. I play a little when I try to relax myself.

Is a single thing here true? Actually, the part about no Doomsday support is correct simply because Dark Forces doesn't run on the Doom engine.

And you're sure you're doing it right?
