Recently I tried to finish the whole game (thief gold) in the smallest possible amount of time (on "normal" difficuly of course). I wonder if somebody else tried this. Here are the times I needed:
Time Total Mission
----------------------------------------
2:20 2:20 Training
0:53 3:13 Bafford's
4:18 7:31 Cragscleft
3:05 10:39 Bonehoard
5:24 16:03 Assassins
6:00 22:04 Thieves' Guild
2:49 24:53 The Sword
4:49 29:43 The Haunted Cathedral
15:07 44:50 The Mages' Tower
2:42 47:33 The Lost City
5:55 53:28 Song of Caverns
3:41 57:09 Undercover
2:24 59:34 Return to the Cathedral
1:25 1:00:59 Escape!
3:03 1:04:02 Strange Bedfellows
11:13 1:15:16 Maw of Chaos
Later I started from scratch but have finished only four missins yet - all with considerably less time than before:
Time Total Mission Improvement Imp. Total
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1:46 1:46 Training -0:34 -24.3% -0:34 -24.3%
0:44 2:30 Bafford's -0:09 -17.0% -0:43 -22.3%
3:35 6:06 Cragscleft -0:43 -16.7% -1:25 -18.8%
2:39 8:46 Bonehoard -0:26 -14.1% -1:53 -17.7%
Note that I didn't use any cheats and didn't exploit any bugs (except kangaroo jumping - I don't consider it cheating because the game can be boring without it).

That's pretty impressive.

If I could only find a way to cut off all the dialogs you have to listen to in the game. I bet one could do it in less than an hour.

I finished A Keepers Training in 2:08 on my first try (in expert, but I guess it doesn't make any difference), but I didn't want to carry on. Funny idea, to clock the game, but IMO Thief is no fun when hurried through. I'll try it with Unreal. :)

Claws- SpeedThief is done on Normal, because it has less requirements (for example, in Bafford's you only need to get to the scepter, you don't also need to get the hell out of there like in Expert), and so is easier to play quickly.

-claw Well, if you can beat the times I posted I'd be happy to hear about it (along with any tricks to improve the times). For the 44 second's on Bafford's I practiced a whole day, so I hope it's not *this* easy to beat :o)

I seem to remember somebody doing Bafford's in 0:28. I could remember wrong, though...

Might be possible with NPC jumping. I think you can jump directly into the garden with a lot of luck. From there its only a few steps to the secret passage.

Wasn't me who did it... and I really can't remember if the person said how it was done.
Perhaps somebody else remembers? (Grundy?)
