Incidentally, swat 3 on hardest at the bloody tv station level is doing my head in!
The large TV studio with all the hostages is a bitch to clear out. I usually lob 3-4 CS grenades over the top of the backdrop plus a flashbang before ordering my team to bang and clear.

The "tactical" side to Rogue Spear was bloody impenetrable to me. I must admit I really dug Raven Shield, though I will admit it's rather light on the tactical side but with plenty of good close quarters combat.
Isn't so much the single player, they messed up but the multiplayer, the pacing was all wrong and the map design terrible, the matches in Rogue Spear were split-second lightning fast dances of death, the way the maps were laid out with multiple insertions made 4 maps out of every map, you were really playing scenario's, never seen level-design that was so tight, best multiplayer ever.

Cheers for the tip. A shame if the Sabre Squadron co-op isn't what it could have been :/ A bit odd that the sequel to a game so renowned for awesome co-op would have dropped the ball on that element.

Yeah, that's a tough one. Not sure I've ever played it on the hardest difficulty. Good luck :)

Men
of war? Isnt that an RTS, hardly a "shooter". Maybe there's a "men
at war" that i've missed.

I dunno, I've found H&D2's coop to be the most solid 'keep coming back to it even after all these years' coop I've ever played.
Sure, there's respawn, but given the lethality of the game on the harder settings (a single hit will usually take you to 5% health) this is pretty much required. You can tweak how many lives you get, and whether all players share a common pool of lives, and so on.
Plus there's always the fun of shooting at a ludicrously distant german for two minutes and getting
"You hit enemy to left hand"
"You hit enemy to left hand"
"You hit enemy to left leg"
"You hit enemy to left hand"
"You hit enemy to right hand"
"You hit enemy to helmet"
"You hit enemy to left leg"
"Your friend killed enemy"
Which is always fun for creating tension... :p

Blame the fans. When the first Hidden and Dangerous came out the message boards were full of people moaning about the fact that the multiplayer game was co-op only and not Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch etc.
The Developers obviously took notice and for the sequel they included only Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and a couple of other game modes (which incidentally are quite good) but left out co-op. Cue forums full of moaning and bitching that co-op wasn't included. So the expansion fixed that although only with the expansion missions. The Developers were supposed to release a free map pack with the original missions converted for co-op (or at least those suitable for such conversion, a few aren't) along with a final patch for the game. Both of those have disappeared into Development Hell.

damn, its men of war. confuses me with all those men and war titles. anyways, it's an RTS but you can take control of the AI and shoot for them. although it's not first person. but it's the best war-tactical game I played recently.

Cool, might check it out then.

Absolutely. Played for many a happy and frustrating hour on this. I loved the one in the fancy penthouse with all the glass.

The worst SWAT 3 mission for my money was the sewers. Nothing worse than trekking through that dark misery for nearly an hour only to get killed by the last guy who's managed to wander halfway through the map that you thought was clear.
