Hi there! :D
Some weeks ago I downloaded (mirrored) all fan made maps for Doom/Doom2 from idgames onto my PC. As the Thief games are some of my favourite games and there are also many fan missions I would like do something similar here. As far as I know there is no "central" FTP server with all missions on it. It seems that (
http://thiefmissions.com/) thiefmissions.com is one of the most up-to-date and complete set of missions.
What do you recommend for getting all FMs without searching each one by hand? What is the best website (or server) to get them from? Which one has the most up-to-date collection and the most complete?
(what a shame that the KOMAG DVDs no longer exist ;) )
Have a good day!

Someone who got all the fms could make a torrent and upload it on some site. I think i have them all, but rather bad upload speed, just 1 mbit adsl. I could do it, but if someone else with better speed and have all of them, it would be better.

I have also thought about that torrent thing. I can certainly seed it, if it comes up. I also thought about bundling it with fmsel.ini file, which has every mission titled and tagged (author, series, contest, type (according to the thread) etc.). That way it is easier to search for missions and you can do things like: "I want city missions without zombies" and just select/deselect respective tags. One problem of the torrent would obviously be that it would have to be updated very often.

@pavlovscat
Thanks, I think that covers everything I need :) And taffersparadise has direct links to all missions, which will make it quite easy. So again thank you very much!
About the torrent:
I thought about something like this, too. The way some other websites do this (thinking about OCRemix here) is that they have a "base" torrent and a "new" torrent. For Thief this could mean all maps from beginning to 2015 as the base torrent and the new torrent contains all missions from there on. The old missions won't change anyway and no new ones will be added :)

Yes, i could make one to 2015. But how to do with the new ones, from 2015? Its no point adding single missions. Maybe every year? Or how do you think?

I think it's just a listing, whenever I try to actually download a file from there, I get a "bandwidth limit exceeded" error message.

Yes they seem to also have a lot of missions there. However for me there are two things which are worse than on taffersparadise. First there are no direct download links on the overview site which makes automated downloading a lot more difficult. Second: The games do not have their own sub-sites. I think this is pretty handy.

This sounds good to me. Because new missions are only released every few weeks/months (not sure about this) everybody can quite easily catch up and download each one by hand if he wants to. But the bulk download would happen with the 15+ years torrent :)
What I see as difficult is that someone would need to verify the completeness of the whole package. Another problem (maybe) I have is that different websites used different filenames for the same missions. So how does the end user really know if he has all the missions? Additionally some metadata would be nice, like ratings, full titles etc.

Yeah, that's been the case for quite awhile now. And I haven't seen gnartsch around at all for quite some time. He usually knows what's going on over there.
