I'd most like to see Perlman return, of course.

I'd far prefer a broader cast of 'B' grade actors than a couple of big names too. Oblivion's dialogue really suffered from having no significant professionals on it apart from Stewart and Bean. Both of them were good, but the others varied from OK to ear destroyingly atrocious and since the scope of both Bean and Stewart's (especially) characters were limited...
It's been known for some time that it would be set on the east coast, but not exactly where. I dislike DC as a setting as, logically, it should be a glowing radioactive crater following a nuclear exchange even more so than LA. Pretty concept art though.

Agreed. Star power is nice for marketing, but an experienced voice actor can be so much more versatile, and presumably so much less expensive, as to be far more effective in a game. I expect Neeson will do a good job - he does have a quality voice - but I wonder how much more they could've done with the money they spent on him if they'd directed their resources at something a little less flashy.
I would also guess that Patrick Stewart's laughably brief turn in Oblivion is what made Bethesda point out specifically that Neeson would figure prominently "throughout the game." Stewart was quite good in his role, but I expect it will be long-remembered as one of the most pathetically transparent publicity stunt-marketing ploys ever seen.

I'm ditto with the voice actors - and I like Liam Neeson, as I like Patrick Stewart. I just didn't like him in Oblivion. His voice is far too recognizable, and so it is somewhat immersion-breaking. Neeson has a bit less of a distinctive voice, and so it shouldn't be quite as bad. Still, the cast of Fallout 1 and 2 were great - especially Kenneth Mars, who is god.
Who is not only still around, but was apparently in both Kingdom Hearts games. They BETTER get him on board again.

Neither Tactics coming from Interplay house had Morgan's music. You know what I did? I have replaced the original mp3s with original Morgan's music.
It worked well - you can do the same with F3 for additional nostalgia.
alternatively, you can just stick tracks from aphex twin's selected ambient works II, since they're basically the same thing ;)

Not keen on Neeson being the character's father.
Fallout has always been about you imagining your character's background, not about the developer forcing a background on you.
The protagonist in previous Fallouts has always purposefully had a very loosely defined background, to ensure that you can really develop your own character and justify his/her behaviour through this mechanism.
Force a background onto the player's character and that's one level of immersion removed. No longer are you getting into the role you've set for yourself; rather you're squeezing into a role pre-defined for you.
This may seem nit-picky, but I think it's somewhat core to the Fallout roleplaying experience.

Coincidentally I have that album, but I never had any Fallout associations while listening to it. Worth a try!

Having said that, Stewart's co-star Michael Dorn was a bit immersion-breaking for me in Fallout 2. ;)

Uh, Malf, you do realize Fallout 2 gave your character some background too, right? The main character being raised in the village and being a descendant of the Vault Dweller (I forgot if he/she's a direct descendant and if you get to meet your parents if not) seems like it'd disappoint you too.
Malf on 9/5/2007 at 13:03
And?
The original vault dweller was my character as well.
Not a character created by the developer, but a character I had played and moulded by my actions in the previous game...
