It was predictable, they knew that it would get people (NMA) off there backs for a while.
I felt like i was watching the fallout 1/2 intro which was the problem, wheres the new game ? we all know what fallouts about, proving that THEY do as well isnt going to make it easier for them.
I dunno maybe its a great teaser, they need to follow that up pretty quick with some gameplay as there isnt realy anything new to go on.
I feel teased i guess:p
New engine looks realy good, just kind of missing the mad max desert thing
True, when you think about it, it is EXACTLY the Fallout 1 trailer, but with a radio instead of a TV, a bus instead of a building and a power armor threw in for the kicks.
But then again, if it was something different, you would hear thousands of fanboys screaming in terror of how they "ruined Fallout forever."

I'm starting to feel a little sorry for Bethsoft. They really are between a rock and a hard place.
Also I had to laugh when you hear "not Fallout enough" then "not creative enough" in the same thread. One thing is for sure - no matter how good, bad, faithful or progressive F3 is, plenty of people will be pissed :p
[edit: and having just watched the trailer, to me it's spot on. Nowt wrong with that :)]

Fuck 'em. If they won't allow themselves to enjoy something that isn't exactly the way they want it, they deserve to be unhappy.

I don't feel teased at all, Bethesda really does fail at everything they do, rite? ;)
Because it is within my nature, bad things only:
1. Brotherhood of Steel... wait, what? How, why?
2. The Citadel from HL2 in the background :weird:

The trailer just came out and you guys have already filled pages? Bleh.
Anyway, trailer was find but uninspiring - it just seemed to be basically a complete rip-off of the first trailer. Fan service is nice and all but, unless they plan on remaking Fallout 1, they're going to have to do their own original stuff - showing me something original that was good would have allayed my fears more than just re-hashing something before.
That said, it's a nice in-game engine. Good song.

Oh god, Fallout 3 is screwed.
"Hey guys, wouldn't it be CLEVER if we repeated the same lines over and over and over?"

All it really tells us is that they know what they've got and what it means to people. The NMA segment of the Fallout fanbase is a small (though extremely vocal) group, but plenty of other people love Fallout for what it was and want to see it handled with care.
To many (myself included), that Bethsoft are handling it with care is inspiring enough.
But otherwise I agree; now that I know they care, I want to see the new stuff!

It was not a complete rip-off - while the idea&construction of the scene was taken straight from F1 (which, I agree, was quite disappointing, even the Ink Spots felt quite repeptitive), the whole feel of the game seems to be quite different from the previous Fallouts. A dense urban environment, for one thing, which never was the forte of the series. Even the colour is different - bluish instead of brownish-yellowish. Wishes aside, I really believe it's just the trailer that's derivative, and the game will be a whole NEW Fallout rather than an NMA Fallout.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I thought the trailer was very well done from a PR point of view - for new folks, it seems cool and dark - and for old Fallout fans it shows that Bethesda is familiar with the old Fallouts.
Again - as long as they get the writing and dialog right, I can live with a LOT of gameplay changes. I'm just skeptical that the will.

May have already been mentioned but I've not read all the posts since the trailer came out, but that Ink Spots song was the one that the original devs wanted for Fallout 1 but didn't get a license for, wasn't it?
A less cynical person than me might think it kinda cool that Beth went and did that, but for some reason it seems terribly lazy and predictable to me - as does the rest of this trailer.
It's like they didn't even put any of their own though or effort into it.
I didn't have a problem with Bethsoft getting the licence, having never really played many of their games to my knowledge (I spent a couple of hours on Morrowind, but it felt very soulless and I gave up) but nothing they have presented so far - the artwork, trailer and devposts for example - has given me any confidence in their ability to create a great game.
I'm afraid I may be turning into a NMA retard more and more by the day.
