And it's Marvellous. Brilliant. Phenomenal. 4000 posts in the first day. The 10 second tubgirlings and goats'ing from the Codex crowd, the rampant dumbfuckery and blatant trolling, the desparate attempts at moderating, the tortuous reiteration of every single Bethesda/ Fallout 3 argument ever created and perhaps most miraculous of all a bit of genuine discussion.
I'm lovin' it.

Seriously, was there ever a game with more bugs?
Seriously : Daggerfall.

I recall Ultima IX was a bit rough around the edges (understatement!) out of the box, too.

I particularly loved the way the U9 forums closed right after the patch was released, in an hilarious 'we-think-it's-done-so-goodbye' move.

Who the hell cares about the final product as long as theres the brilliant death animations?

I tried to play UIX about a year or so ago for the first time, but didn't get more than an hour into it before giving up. I didn't notice anything really wrong with it, it just wasn't holding my attention.
Is it worth going back to it and giving it a real try?

With the proper fanmade patches it is.

I was prepared to put up with the bugs in Ultima IX, even the annoying flying gargoyle palace where limpet crabs attach themselves to your manhood and chant whale song whilst you batter the computer in frustration at the annoying flying gargoyles.
Alas, the whole game was ruined by the Guardian's attention to the important matters in the world: Surely, you will not go adventuring without clothes avatar!
Surely not.
Also wtf did they do to Iolo, wise man deserve better
Never mind that, where the fuck was Enilno? All that foreshadowing in Ultima 7 for nothing?
