This just in: The fact that all Fallout fans are ignorant, stupid, and arrogant is (

When it comes to Fallout fans, ignorance, stupidity and arrogance is bad combination, because this is a community that has all of those. Since I've always opened the door there, they're loathsome human beings, who I hope really get a horrible disease and die.

He was the product manager for Fallout:Tactics. I'd be surprised if he didn't come away from that hating the community.

While I was generally positive about the info in the GI article, most of the new information sounds sucktastic to the extreme.

I was pleasantly surprised by Gamespot's preview. Not only does it have something akin to an overhead camera (something I was not at all expecting, though I'm fine with first person myself), it actually has a turn-based combat system. Amazing. Now, that doesn't meant they'll do it right - but the fact that they're putting in one shows that they really do want to please as many of the old fans as possible.
Also, the part about NPCs all being unique, and there being much less of them so they can all have real dialogue and not be information kiosks, made me happy.

There was NEW information? I've been shifting through the Cole's notes on the Duck and Cover website and it looks like the same info that was in the GI article.
Actually, I take that back. New info includes: no killable children, no vehicles, no groin shots, cannibalism, a camera that can pan out to a pseudo-isometric view, hacking mini-game, etc...

Dammit. I never used the vehicle, so no big loss, but no killable children and no groin shots remove part of what made Fallout so good.
I used to go around shooting everything in the nads. Even rats. Sad that I won't be able to in Fallout 3.
