The only questions I have about these dolls is how rare are they? If they're unique like the memory chips in FO2, it's much of the same (even if it makes no sense that a doll head gives you stats). On the other hand, how do they work? Do you have to consume them? Or just have them in inventory?
I think there's not yet enough info on this to make a clear call.

No doubt some will loathe the source, but NMA has by foul and underhanded means only used by fascist infiltrators or communist agents-provocateur produced a very in depth (
http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=38620) article on the Fallout 3 demo shown at Leipzig. It's well worth a read, though the NMA haters may wish to avoid the opinion/ editorial section of page three to keep their blood pressure at safe levels.

So what exactly do they want? Frankly I'm not certain they even know themselves.

It sounds terrific. I didn't even read it all, I had enough at shooting cars full of petrol after one hundred years(Protip: The war in Fallout was all about petrol) which explode in mini-nuclear blast and radiate the surrounding area for a while.

Judging by the Eurogamer preview screenshot, it looks like Oblivion's woeful straight-on coversation-cam is back in full force.

Pre-War cars in Fallout were already running on nuclear fuel, weren't they? The car in F2 was certainly nuclear powered, and was prewar.
Still, I don't agree with them blowing up in massive nuclear explosions every time to shoot the damn things.

It was fusion fuel, not fission. Bullets can do many, many things, but initiate nuclear fusion ain't one of em. Not is their gonna be enough hydrogen to make much of a pop from a chemical explosion.

fusion fuel
Even though the concept of hydrogen/helium fusion process in portable batteries sounds totally ridiculous, but hey who cares. It sounds cool.
I think the war was about oil in general.

Petrolium and uranium. War never changes, always about resources... of course Bethesda changed that too.
