I couldn't find the FO collection when I was buying the game (this was nearly 2 years ago by the way) and in any case I already had FO1 and 2. However that's a pretty fucking good deal you got there. And yeah, FOT is definitely a very good JA clone, and is between FO1 and 2.
Just... be prepared for a long slog through Kansas City. Holy shit.

Tactics is a decent enough game, but its combat is nowhere near as good as JA2's and it is hamstrung by the 'worst of both worlds' real time/ turn based system which tends to lead to either your party getting wiped out randomly by some mutant with a minigun who pops up in RT, or prolonged periods of extreme boredom as you manoevre your party across a large map in TB.
F:T's story is, certainly so far as Beth is concerned, non-canon (same with FOPOS), so there's no need to play it prior to Fallout 3. It isn't a particularly memorable or good story either, but it's OK.

I spent $65 on a
used copy.
Oh, money down the drain, big time. Don't you have access to one of those Fallout collections or sold out edition, perchance? Hopefully it will be available on GodOldGames as well... eBay is full of greedy people.

Just preordered the collector's edition. Got a cool poster and soundtrack sampler out of it.
There was a reason I was holding on to those gift cards since Christmas :)

Traitor
Seriously though, I hope you enjoy it.
Myself, I'm completely livid given what I've learned so far about the game and the people working on it, so if I ever play it, I'm probably going to try and pick it up second hand as cheaply as possible to ensure that Bethesda don't see a penny of my money.

You Yanks will have a PipBoy alarm clock in the lunchbox, huh? Lucky buggers. Well I guess I can live with the lighter version for the rest of the world.

I think only the Amazon.com version will have the alarm clock. Cute but not worth importing, for me anyway.
Edit: although I see that at the end of June the Amazon UK Video Games Editor posted 'Stay tuned for more news of [the Survival Edition]' so you never know.

Stories on the official site mention they planned to make the VaultBoy figurine of porcelain, but decided against it as that would result in large amount of dissatisfied customers finding the figurine to be disintegrated into little pieces.
And there was idea of real Nuka Cola bottle, but then wise decision "better no food in collector's edition box" prevailed. Also gut.
