Is there more? Where? The trailer coming out in 31 days? Well, it isn't out
now. What do you expect internauts do with their time?
Be reasonable and not jump to conclusions? You do have a choice.

Actually there's more:
(1) Bethesda
blacklisting fansites (RPGCodex and a Star Trek fansite i don't remember) when they had the temerity of pointing out that their game was shit (Star Trek), and that Fallout 3 might very well end up being Oblivion with guns and desert.
What do you mean by blacklisting? And is it not the case here that some fans are essentially blacklisting Bethesda?

(2) Peter Heines stating "we will do what we do best".
Heaven knows they should do something they do worst!

(3) RPGs like Oblivion with laughable NPC interaction and major focus on XTREME grafix.
"Sorry, I don't know anything about that."
Seriously, though, they also made Morrowind which has some of the most long-winded and in-depth conversations I could never be bothered to drag myself into reading - Fallout was always more pithy and digestible.

Fans are seeing Bethesda in contrast with J.E. Sawyer and Black Isles who had the guts to actually discuss changes and defend what they were going to do (even if fans disagreed). Fundamentally, they were still making a game that was going to be highly faithful to the original titles.
Is it not enough that you're even getting a Fallout 3? I'd far, far rather have Oblivion with guns in the Fallout world than nothing. Oblivion was enjoyable. And Bethesda making Fallout 3 doesn't mean it's any more or less likely that another Fallout game will be made that is faithful to the originals in the extremely narrow definition that you use; it always was and always will be incredibly UNLIKELY. And the company was called Black Isle (singular).

INTERNET.
Do you have something going on with BR#? Can we take this outside?
Oh, well in that case, you win.

We're running in circles now. Let's just wait for the glorious resurrection of this thread on the 6th of June.

You just
had to nitpick somewhere, didn't you? :(

Don't be like that; you know we both enjoyed this.

You can't link to RPGCodex from Beth's forums. If you type in 'RPGCodex' the autocensor replaces it with 'I love Oblivion'.
IIRC the 'official' (though never officially stated) reason was because someone followed a link to a codex thread and got stealth tubgirled.
Unofficially it was because the codex did a widely referenced and highly unflattering review of Oblivion, and take the piss out of Todd Howard at every opportunity. I believe the Star Trek site got blacklisted for being similarly critical of ST: Legacy.

What with the financial success of their (post Daggerfall) kiddy RPGs, nobody doubts Bethesda's capability of buying rights to any number ever sung.
What the sam crap was kiddy about Morrowind? Oblivion didn't have the same depth of conversations but it wasn't kiddy either. You're just being uppity because they both happened to be released for console.
Anyway, the music is awesome. I don't care if the game is a bit more epic. The music in fact synchs up pretty well with some of the last cut scenes from Fallout 2.

Er, I beg to differ. Morrowind had long-winded and in-depth monologues from NPCs via it's wikipedia interface. Conversations just plain didn't happen.

Only a Fallout fan would start an argument about the quality of Fallout 3 based on the music from a website that will be showing the first-ever trailer for the game a fucking month from now.

Update in a month: Only a Fallout fan would start an argument about the quality of Fallout 3 based on the teaser for the game a fucking year from now.

Talk? What is this 'talk'?
It's 'rumours', ffs.

Only a Thief fan would start an argument about the quality of Thief 3 based on them changing the name from Thief 3 to Thief: Deadly Shadows.
Only a System Shock fan would start an argument based on unfounded (and probably deliberately joke) rumours that the Madden EA team is making SS3
Only a Deus Ex fan fan would start an argument about the quality of DX2 based on unified ammo.
Ho hum.
