There's a massive UT3 update coming soon. SteamWorks integration featuring server browser support, 50 Steam achievements, smarter bot AI, etc.

In preparation for the massive update coming for Unreal Tournament 3, those who own a retail copy may now register it with Steam, free of charge.
The latest installment in the legendary online action series from Epic will be updated automatically via Steam and introduce support for Steamworks Achievements (with over 50 Achievements), plus a host of new features and enhancements in AI, Server Browsing, Demo Recording, Mod Support, and more.
To register your retail copy on Steam, simply click the main menu option 'Games' and select 'Activate a product on Steam' from within the Steam client.

That's all nice but hopefully this update will fix the constant crashes that loads of people have reported whilst using Nvidia Forceware v18x.xx drivers (myself included, I can't play UT3 without it crashing after ~10 minutes).
It seems bizarre that Nvidia would release several driver revisions that would break support with such a high profile title, especially a game that's part of the "Nvidia - The Way It's Meant to be Played" programme. Yet Fallout 3 was part of that same programme and a lot of people with Nvidia GPUs still experienced severe stability issues. :Picard:

Unreal Tournament might be a high profile title. But it isn't a very popular game. And Epic has lost the support of many UT fans over the years. UT99 was the first game that I played more than was healthy for me. I would have paid 500 euros for the next UT, if it had been UT99 with better graphics and new maps. But no, Epic released UT2003, and showed they had no clue what made UT99 so much fun and successful. Everything they did after that was crap.
I think most old UT fans don't give a damn what Epic does. We have moved on to better games. In fact, Epic has created so much bad blood with me, they'd have to pay me, for me ever to try one of their games again.

I picked it up for $10 USD off Steam during the New Years sale, for good singleplayer mods really (if they ever do come). In the meantime I just want to play a full botmatch without the fucking game crashing after 10 minutes or less.

Excuse me ? Did I step on your foot ?
It seems you are disappointed by Epic because of UT3, just as much as I was disappointed in Epic because of UT2003 and UT3. (I never bought UT2004 and I never tried the demo. I did try the UT3 demo).
Epic has been inconsequential in their game design. In a way that shows (at least to me) that they never really bothered to study what makes an online multi-player game great. And then they plunged their console game straight on the PC platform, which made the UI completely unusuable on PCs. I swear to god, the UT99 UI and server browser was pretty good, but they had to mess it up. There are many more game companies I'd like to give a good kick in the nuts (including Blizzard). But Epic was the first one to inflict nerd rage in me. It seems they did the same to you.

Thanks for the info, Eva. I got UT3 mostly for the new editor, both the editor and the game run perfectly on my PC when patched to 1.3, but I won't complain for any future improvements, it there are any to be made.

UT2K4 completely owned 2K3.
Yeah, they really had little to apologize for in 2K4. It is an excellent game, and a deserving heir to the UT franchise.

Massive free update? Sounds great! I quite like UT3 as it is, but there's definitely tons of room for improvement.

I keep saying it... Best damn tools ever relased with a game for modders. Maybe with steamworks support it will look more attractive to modder with good ideas.

You play WoW, I don't expect you to know what you're talking about. UT2K4 was far and above the last great game Epic's managed to put out- it's what 2k3
should have been. Why don't you go fucking buy a copy for $5 (unless your budget is too tight and you need it for your WoW subscription) and find out for yourself? Some great mods on it too.
