Hey now let's not say things you can't take back.

Agreed. Where did that come from, EvaUnit? That wasn't called for. And BTW, shoo Trance. Oh great worshipful master of Trolling...:rolleyes:And it's not something to brag about.
[wannabe mod]And we are WAY off topic, let's drop this BS[/wannabe mod]

Never touched UT3.
It's a lot more like the original UT than 2003/2004, it's worth giving a shot, even more so with this new Titan thing out. If you can't get in on the full thing in any way, there's a (
http://files.filefront.com/Unreal+Tournament+3+Beta+Demo/;8780331;/fileinfo.html) Beta Demo you could try.
Regarding the Titan pack, I've tried out a couple of the new/returning maps, and the two new game modes. Both modes can be a fair amount of entertainment, though I think the Betrayal type might be a bit too chaotic for my taste. Greed, however, I've found to be a whole basket of fun, even though bot AI doesn't seem too well adapted for it.
Maps - Facing Worlds is looking as nice as ever, closer to the original in terms of style. Morbias was never anything spectacular, but it makes an honourable comeback as a slaughterfest. Also tried this new Barge map, which is nice change of scenery, though it won't knock your pants off. And I've left the returning Turbine for last. You see, Turbine was one of my most beloved maps in UT, and while level design patterns are recognizable and it plays very nicely in its new incarnation, I can't help but feel that it's all gotten too visually "busy". Not just this map, but the game in general. It all looks mouth-watering, sure, but while this may go superbly for other games, especially where you get to explore a fair bit, I think UT would have more to gain from a slightly "cleaner" screen.

What is it with Facing Worlds?
You mean 16 people standing in two towers taking pot shots at each other.
I dunno what that is.
It's not a game.

After giving the new update a quick try, they definitely improved the UI.
And Ulukai, there is more to Facing Worlds than hanging around in the base picking up the redeemer over and over again (that was my favorite activity in UT99 when I was new to that game :p).

This patch fixed the constant crashing that most people were experiencing on Nvidia GPUs. I can now at least finish a botmatch, so I'm satisfied.

One of those instances when bots come in handy. ;) At any rate, it looks sweet and it's easy to navigate, that makes it a winner in my book. And if I'm bored of running the flag myself, I send the bots in to attack then take to playing what Yahtzee called "point-and-click adventure games" from the top of my tower.
On a different note, for you and anyone else who'd like to try out the full UT3 before deciding whether to buy or not - (
http://kotaku.com/5165243/play-unreal-tournament-3-for-free-right-now) play it for free this weekend. As long as you have a Steam account. And if you decide to purchase it afterwards, the Steam price will be cut to just 12$ until March 15th. If you've got an hour or two to play and the bandwidth for a DL, it's really worth checking out.

That was fast. I expected them to dangle that in front of our faces for months. Maybe now I have a reason to plug in my desktop PC.
