I played this on my beloved - and long gone - Amiga 1200. Come back 1993, all is forgiven.

you've got another thin
k ? Not being a smartass. Is this a British phrase?

Interesting. I didn't know it was that old.
Is it British in origin, though? I thought it was an American thing.

Maybe, I don't know. It's certainly in widespread use in the UK, though.

So maybe this means that Curse of Monkey Island will actually show up on Steam and I can finally play it without paying horrible second-hand markup on this game?

I hope so. I never got to play it; I've been dying to ever since I finished MI2 and discovered that 3 existed.

I want to know why everyone hates Escape from Monkey Island. It was admittedly the first ME game I ever played, but at the time (and I'm open to the possibility that I didn't know better, I haven't replayed it lately) I remember good voice acting, an interesting story, and difficult puzzles. I get the impression that people are hung up on the ending, which I can't even recall. It was a long game, after all. And after I played it, I borrowed the original ME from a friend, and liked it too. Didn't seem especially different—at least not enough to warrant the negative vibe.
I can't remember which specific review it was that said so, but their point - which I agree with - was that
Escape's humour, aside from the tiresome ethnic stereotypes (it's not enough for a character to have a phony Aussie accent to make him funny), felt like one big callback to the original games: "Remember when we first told this joke and it was funny?" There was little about it that felt fresh and interesting. Apart from that, I found the visual style almost entirely lacking in charm.
