Wow, very nice. Finally a worthwhile alternative to the Planescape Torment wallpaper I've been using for so long.:thumb:

Without seeing the original, I don't know if another scan attempt can give better results. With some of it, it's hard to tell what's dust/scratches and what's actually in the image. I was thinking more along the lines of a different original from someone else who has that german hint book. Maybe a cleaner original is out there?
I have no idea!

:D
I downloaded the image. It now brings to mind the pictures on the inside of the cover of a hardback coffee table book. You open the book and see one approximate half, and you'll find the other approximate half inside the back cover.:thumb:

Magpie's onto something there. If you can scan at ultra hires (9600 or 19200 DPI) - and you'll need the CPU, memory and disk cache space to handle a huge image file - you can get something that would look good printed at poster size. The key to a good printout is a high DPI original image.

So, can we donate some money through PayPal to get Beleg a new scanner? But of course, that would be like we are saying he should do a lot more...um, questionable...scanning for us.:D

Ok, I might not be able to contribute much in terms of technical means, but my understanding is that we would first need a good primary source. How large is the picture on the German guide? Would it be a suitable source? If it is suitable, and someone here has a good computer/scanner, I don't mind buying a copy of the book and having it shipped to them. Failing that, perhaps I could find a suitable scanner here. Are copy/printing places equipped for something like this? Having a nice high res picture certainly helps me and I assume it gives a better base for you guys to expand and edit the image as well, correct? Sorry for dumbing everything down. If it has worth to the community, I'll help in any way I can.

Specter, you made me grin more broadly than the Trickster did when he flayed his first manfools.
But first we'd want to hear from Beleg, of course.
Mr. Strongbow! Over here!

Alright lads. Im happy to help! Should the book not be adequate, does anyone know the fate of the original artwork? I know Thief is Eidos' intellectual property, but I wonder if they have in their possession materials like that. I wonder how much it would cost to procure something along those lines... Perhaps Im being over zealous.
