Well, this kinda transcended the artwork for me. As nice as all that would be, for me this was more about getting some more official Thief materials for the community. Thief was a fantastic game, and while I cant offer it much in terms of creativity, I had hoped I could contribute in this way. Its too bad that they arnt selling, and Im not sure I understand why. From a business standpoint, is there any reason to think more money could be made from it?

Well, there's always the wishful thought that calls like yours and the e-mail, and the mention of an interested group, will prick somebody's ears, and start a slow, tiny cascade, that leads to some minor decision, that only we can fully appreciate.:sly: Yes. I know. 'Tis a fantasy.

Don't know about the contacts in the international Eidos forums, but in Germany we have a quite good relationship to the few guys that keep contact to the forum (mostly support afaik). I'm not sure if there is a chance at all, but if the situation gets more and more desparate (:p), I could ask them if it was possible for them to send a request to UK/USA. A call from the German branch, as it were.

I *love* Specter's idea. And to the best of my abilities, I'm willing to be part of the formation of such a consortium.
That said, I believe the replies given speak for themselves - obviously the IP has been attempted purchased, or at least approached for such in the near past, because the person Specter talked to gave the impression of reading aloud from a FAQ. =)
It's kind of nice to hear that Eidos still considers the Thief IP a valuable commodity. Perhaps even something to profit from in the future. If they didn't, they would certainly be interested in selling some of it, no? I mean, were I an Eidos brand manager, I'd hold on to the Thief trademark for as long as I could, regardless of whether there was any activity around the property or not. Hoping that someday... someone... would pick it up and bring it back to greatness.
I believe, in other words, in Specter's alternative 1) - There are plans, of sorts, for the Thief trademark. Which answers any questions around any future profit for Thief.
How about a real Thief for handhelds, people? Thief for Wii?
:D

grateful that Specter made the inquiry. Thanks.

...I believe every part of that acronym is faulty, save for the last letter.
And proud we are of that, too.

Heeeeyyy...what're you sayin'? I'm not quite single, nor quite white, nor quite male?:o I'm glad the xenophobia has quieted down around here since 1947.

I was trying to speak for the community, not targeting you specificly.. ;)
As far as I'm concerned, we're all first and foremost young, good-looking, sociable nerds. The details are negligible.
