Hello the forum!
I've got a little bug to squash and wondered if anyone might have a simple solution. I start the game and I see my health and mana meters.. along with the book and belt... but nada else. All is dark.. actually black. My screen, other than the icons described, is completely and utterly black. I know dungeons are supposed to be dim and dank but com'on. I literally have to use my map to navigate with. Hard to find objects you just can't see. Harder still to konk a goblin jailkeeper.
I've seen the screen shots and am hoping to be able to work with this demo.. looks great!
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated!

It sounds like you have an ATI video board.
If this is the case:
in the cfg.ini file (in the base dir of the demo) find the MISC chapter and change it to:
[MISC]
ati=1
