You're missing that alex is actually Russian. And what he's doing there is try to incite hate against Chechen people.
There have been two wars between Russia and Chechnya (19994-1996 & 1999-2000). Many extremely gruesome terror acts have been committed by Chechen terrorists in adjacent states ((
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beslan_school_hostage_crisis) Beslan school) as well as Moscow ((
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow_theater_hostage_crisis) Dubrowka theater). And Russia, being the autocratic mafia state it is, has handled them with brute force and human rights abuse on Chechen civilians and prisoners.
Basically these people are all mad as hell, neither in Russia nor in Chechnya does a human life count for much and you don't want to get involved.

Welp, let's close this thread then before David buys an iBomb or something.

Killing an innocent people is a crime against humanity, not so named "a fight for freedom". If somebody wants to fight, then let he/she fight against an enemy soldiers. Otherwise this person is just an animal of unknown origin: it looks like a human, but it acts like a jackal.
P.S. AFAIK, those two people are not Chechens.

So killing russian soldiers with IEDs, etc. is okay?
MoroseTroll on 25/1/2011 at 14:36
Of course not! I just meant: "If you are a true soldier, than fight against enemy soldier, not against innocent people!" My point is: those, who have setup the blast in the Moscow airport Domodedovo, are animals, jackals, not so named a "soldiers for freedom!"

I can't really see how its that different to dropping a bomb on them. Surely if you're a soldier people trying to kill you is at least a bit expected? Certainly as distinct from say, just getting on a plane to go on holiday.

My feeling is the world will probably be a better place when your place of birth becomes utterly irrelevant to your chosen way of life, so there's no point in fighting for it being on one side of a border or another, even if you have to admit there still needs to be borders for dry, boring administrative reasons.
Edit: On that note, by far the most interesting thing going on in the world right now IMO is the Tunisian revolution. I don't know that it will spread beyond Tunisia, or how it will turn out, but a cascade of grassroots led liberalization throughout the Arab and Muslim world would be terrific development, as long as it doesn't back-fire (like the Iranian revolution). That's the prize that all regions and communities should keep their eyes on.

That's how chechen rebels fight for freedom...
How do you know they were Chechen rebels? There are other groups that could have done it, you know.

The Tunisia revolution will backfire for sure. Not because I'm a pessimist, but they lack the proper tools and abilities to make it right. They are so close, but so far away from their dreams. And the Western world should keep their current stance, the hands-off approach, otherwise they will feed the islamists which are already there. I hope I'm wrong about this.

I have never understood why terrorists think suicide bombing actually works. If anything, it embitters the other side even further (not to mention the cowardice involved in pulling it off and the absolute evil that it is).
If someone is going to set off a bomb, why don't they set themselves on fire instead. It is far more effective. Just sayin', I'm not suggesting anyone should light themselves on fire either, because it is stupid. It is just not as stupid and sends a message that would be received instead of rejected.
