Has anyone had difficulty getting Darkexporter 2 to work in Blender? I go to Blender->User Preferences->Addons>Import-Export and click the title box, but I get the following errors:
..."\scripts\modules\addon_utils.py", line 330, in enable =_import(module_name)
..."\scripts\addons\darkexporter.py", line 47 in <module> import helper, matdecoder
Error: Parent module " not loaded, cannot perform relative import
With the first Darkexporter program, I think I left the .py files alone in their respective directories, but I'm wondering if at least one .py file needs to be relocated. I am still new to Python, so any help is greatly appreciated. I can see from the errors that some hex editing is likely needed.

It's best to let Blender put those files in the right place instead of extracting them yourself.
User Preferences > Addons: Install from file... Select the zip file.

Theres also another exporter in development:
(

which does not require BSP.exe
Well
Advantage: Much easier to use than darkexporter, file size poly count mostly lesser
Disadvantage: "BSP sorting is a bitch", the algorithm is not 1:1 and so alpha sorting problems can occur. (if you add Renderer -> Transparency)
I'm not up to date but maybe some of you who knows about BSP can help. As said it's much easier to use for example textures from materials are directly used and don't have to be applied via UVEditor, Auto Shaders....

Thanks, I will definitely look into this. I followed R Soul's advice, and using Blender's UV Editor window alongside "3D View", I can now render some images onto objects. The problem is, Blender is only exporting the .BINs but not the paired images (I choose a new material, then open a new image, then render). The same thing happened with 3ds2bin. Anyway, I have to keep working with them...or another program.
