I agree, but at least Blood 2's final level was a lot like those found in the original Blood. The plasma pack had some creepy stuff too.
BTW, decided to replay after searching through boxes of yesteryear's treasures. Given a certain degree of nostalgia the gameplay has held up quite well IMO.
