I have some guards that carry lanterns in my new mission. When the guards are hit by a broadhead, sword, or blackjack they drop their lanterns. The lantern will break under two different conditions:
* If the lantern hits the ground hard enough
*
* If the lantern is hit by a broadhead, sword, or blackjack
*
When the lantern breaks this occurs:

The blood spot is partially embedded in the solid ground. The landing axis is set to -Z, +Z. How do I make the blood spot land flat on the ground just as the red blood spots do?

It sounds to me that the fire may have some physical parameters that make the oil fall at a slant. I would have to see it in action to know what's going on here. Is it in the FM you're working on?

A suggestion if you don't figure this out: change from oil spots to open flames, If you drop a lantern such that it breaks open and spills oil, it is not unlikely that the oil will catch fire, in which case, the player will notice the short-lived flames and never wonder about the oil / kerosene spillage.

Gort yes it is in my current FM but I don't think it is in the beta 2
Larry the lanterns are lit up and I was thinking of a movie where a lantern was dropped and the flame burned on the ground and actually started burning the hay it landed on. :)
The oil and flame in the picture are short lived. They extinguish after a few seconds just like the DynFlame.

Can be done. There is a demo (NV's?) about spreading flames ... I don't know how that was done, but something like moss spores could be done to effect something.

Not to spoil it but I have some spreading flames on an object in my upcoming FM.
