For what it's worth, I've had no problems with a GF2, GF4 or GF5 on any driver - I believe it's mainly the GF6 and above that are affected. I can't speak for ATIs, but the problem crops up on at least some of them.

But that's it, I have 6600GT, tested Thief Gold with Forceware 91.31 and didn't have this problem... okay, I probably should have mentioned it in the other thread.

The site he linked to is offering the same direct-download version that Eidos distributes, giving you an hou free before you pony up your 20 bucks. They even have the "Demo" and "Buy Now" links going to the same place.
Anyway, the download link on the page I posted works fine, however it tries to open a popup window to do so. You may have popups blocked, in which case you won't be able to get to the installer download. <a href="http://d.trymedia.com/d/eidos/60m_d/eidos/ThiefGoldSetup.exe">Here is a direct link to the installer</a> (in fact the exact same file as is linked to on the site BR mentioned), which is a 200k executable that downloads the entire game package from Eidos' servers.

does anyone know if there's actually a way to activate the blooper mission ingame? Like can you go through a secret portal in the maw to get there or something, or can you only see it by editing files around?

Ebay :D Sure you may not find it new, but that's where I bought T1 and I think T2. They played just fine.
