Blowing the dust off... GTA IV and Left4Dead - by the_grip

I haven't gamed in quite some time, and I'm way out of date in terms of the latest X360 games available.
I was thinking of pulling out my GTA IV and Left4Dead games... do these have any decent addons out there? I know GTA IV had a big one with bikers or some such... anything good on either of these if I just have the vanilla out of the box versions?

I believe L4D had a recent SDK. I've never owned a console, but I assume that the new content is available to 360 users, right?
In any case, said SDK adds some new areas, a new gameplay mode, and some other goodies.

The GTA IV bikers addon is called (

Um... SDK, as in Software Development Kit? They shipped extra game content with the modding tools?

Both an SDK and DLC have been released for L4D recently.

Thank you, I meant DLC. I was distracted while writing.

don't buy the gta DLC, they are coming out with a stand alone disc that will have both the biker and the gay DLC.

If you haven't tried GTA4's multiplayer yet I highly recomend it. Even if you're not normally into MP you should try the Deathmatch and GTA Race modes. I can not descibe how much fun they are, and you wont have to talk to or interact with the other players (beyond shooting at them, that is).

GTA IV multi did sound quite fun - it's unfortunate that my Xbox inexplicably refused to recognize my home network. I'm starting to suspect that the ethernet port (or card, or related thing) is busted.

My enjoyment of the multiplayer mode in GTA 4 has been really inconsistent. There are a few memories where it's been some of the most fun I've had on my 360, though.
I think it might have to do with how the gunplay is kind of ass. It works alright in singleplayer, but it isn't quite functional enough to be the star of multiplayer, so games where you get small, traditional arenas to face off in are quite dull, while games where you have the entire city to totally screw around in are great fun.
The new gamemodes that they released with the DLC sounds really cool, though.
