@sNeaksieGarrett: Damn, I'd hoped keeping the install as basic as possible would avoid problems like that. Oh well, glad you could fix it in the end.
NewDark is required due to the presence of PNG and compressed DDS-textures, which 1.18 does not support.
And yeah, the Alt folder is for alternate drop in versions.

sweet - but not sure whether the old ddfix override format is such a good idea.
I use the old dummy file approach because it allows me to save some space by pointing similar looking instances to the same high res replacement texture (such as in the cases of Texture.pcx and TextureS.pcx for example.) NewDark is backwards compatible like voodoo47 said, and I can't see any real drawbacks - I can use MTL-files and everything, though theyre not featured in this version.

Very cool and looks great! From looking at the other thread, it looks like you've really worked hard to stay true to the originals! Kudos! About what percentage is complete, do you think?
The majority of the commonly seen textures are replaced with
something. At the very least 75% maybe?

Can this pack be used with Tafferpatcher and/or the Ntex pack?
I use tafferpatcher myself and have no problems, but I guess your mileage may vary on that. We'll have to see, this is a newly released version 1.0, after all; I probably have a lot of bugfixing in my future. As for Ntex, well, my pack was created to replace Ntex, and uses a similar implementation, so I can't imagine there
wouldn't be some serious conflict.
EDIT: Oh and by the way, if the visitor who sent me a PM sees this, the forum apparrently deletes visitor messages if one doesn't reply to them straight away, so I seem to be unable to answer your question now. Sorry. :(

I fixed it. I renamed a FAM folder I had to FAM_ and added
.\ to the front of the resname_base in the Dromed2 darkinst.cfg. For the regular install, I added
.\Dromed2+So work :) Thanks, you really rescue me.
Necrobob, thanks for your work. And I hope that you will continue it. ;)

if i have only patched my Thief Gold or Thief 2 using Tfix and Tafferpatcher, there is obviously no ddfix.ini or "crfs" in RES folder. Where do get this ddfix (please link, the SF didn't help), or is there a way to use the texture-pack without it, due to the v1.19?
sNeaksieGarrett on 30/12/2012 at 17:27
You don't need ddfix to make it work. You just have to follow the instructions in the readme and make sure that your darkinst.cfg is correctly set up, and you don't have a FAM folder overwriting the texture pack.

You were right! It was the "fam" folder! I renamed it to "_fam" and it worked.
You know what's weird, though? As i did that, i expected the sky not to look so great anymore (yellow moon and clouds in the first mission), but the sky remained the same, although the "skyhw" folder is in the renamed "fam" folder.
Also i didn't get it to work on Thief Gold, but i guess it was just not made for it.

the pack requires a mod ready install - that means moving your original crf files into a (newly created) RES folder and modifying the paths in darkinstall.cfg accordingly. or, even better, a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) tafferpatched install (makes sure everything is patched up properly, avoiding 99% of resource based issues, and much more).

There's a few in the thread linked in the first post. Will probably add some new ones to this one as things change.

Nope, the texture family structure is sorted differently. A T1/G version will come eventually.

From what I have seen in the screenshots, bricks textures are too sharp and photorealistic, making them look out of place.

Together with pack and Ntex I would like to use hi-res water from Vurt's pack and moon from EP. Is it possible?
Not cool to choose between beautiful water+sky and all the rest. :erg:
