I am running a Vista desktop and have the 2 CD box set. Appearently I had the patch files in the wrong location ( in a seperate folder off the BOCG directory ). I made sure there was only one set of patch files located in the main BOCG directory off the harddrive, program files. I simply initiated go.bat
The install process takes one to two seconds, but you know when it initializes or extracts the patch. When returning to game the setting for the gallery is reset to "static" automatically and you have to chose "animated".
Good to go! But shot 6 over at average skill setting at St. Andrews after getting a double bogie at the road hole and finding the road hole bunker. Typical.

Assuming the patch is legitimate it looks like the first step has already been done with those files - I assume the bocg_upd.exe was originally a self-extracting zip file. Copy the files you have into your open championship golf directory and run go.bat.
Game is playing great with patch on Windows Vista. Building out Facebook BOCG page.
