I could've sworn you could look down and see your body in Oblivion while in first person, but I'm not going to reinstall to double check.
And that list isn't exactly comprehensive.
Ostriig on 21/9/2009 at 00:46
Don't bother reinstalling Oblivion just for that, I've got in on and it doesn't have it. There's a mod out there that attempts to bring body awareness to Oblivion, but I've never tried it and I don't think we can count that, anyhow.
As for the list, 22 titles on it (26 counting the 4 AO expansions). Are there more?

And jtr: You're
really not helping your 'I'M NOT CLINGING TO THE PAST' claims by calling people 'taffer' and posting reactionary image macros.
Sorry Fahfrd, I know you mean well. Aside from the implication that saying taffer and posting macros has any connection to the past other than that the games I love cam out in the past, the gesture is taken gratefully, but I believe the focus needs to be on preserving
Thief's strengths. I don't understand the implication. This is a
Thief forum, I'm a geek, and this is the culture.
(Ahem) Stop the liars first, or this conversation will go nowhere, no matter the tone. The very fact I use silly euphemisms should communicate I'm not melting down. I'm hoping someone will successfully melt down the 5-plus-year-old garbage MYTHS that hold the arguments back in the past by those who think they are against the past. If the desire to move forward for
Thief's benefit by the opposition to this idea hasn't gotten through, we haven't been read.
The liars are the true anchors dragging on future
Thief, and they need to start from a fresh perspective rooted in facts of the fandom, and what the fans have always extolled about
Thief that aren't broken, before the ideas will be welcome for a new
Thief. Stop the myths first. I am forward-looking, as are those who agree these concepts don't belong in
Thief. No simple explanation can penetrate, and never will. I don't need these body-awareness ideas and wishes explained for the context of
Thief, because they don't belong in there, but I am interested in the tech by itself and for appropriate applications.
If I make a single sentence, it's very telling that I have to then explain the simple. Seeing these guys looking at me with a bovine stare, and snort and stamp, is destructive. I said what I said and it means what it means. No body awareness influence on any aspect of the game. Note it and move on. Simple.
"Meltdown?" Let me guess who tagged this thread with that. I'm perfectly fine on my end, as I was before, in that other thread with the lying tags, and someone thinks
I'm worth more energy than great
Thief.
Lies won't be tolerated, ignorance of why we're opposed after lengthy and multiple repeated explanations won't be ignored. Simple. You have your answers...
all of them...every point has been addressed...act like you haven't noticed and you detract from your own cause. Simple.

It doesn't include the original Operation Flashpoint. And it does include Trespasser, in which the body awareness consisted of a pair of boobs with one arm attached.
[edit]and I read the above post and all I see is TimeCube.

Body awareness seems better geared for casual console gaming, than it does on a PC.
As a PC gamer, I'm looking for this type of world interaction.
(

Fafhrd is right. I'm downloading the Overture demo as I write this, so I'll see what you mean.
Vivian - I'd also like to hear more about this. What level of control and response do you count as 'realistic'?

Boob awareness! Awesome, heard it here first.
I remember playing the demo for Op. Flashpoint, but I admit I'd completely forgotten whether it had legs or not.
jtr7 on 21/9/2009 at 01:21
Ignore if you must. Simple. I note the hypocrisy, Fafhrd. Unavoidable.
Penumbra's environmental interaction is fantastic, but it's not body-awareness.
Does Mirror's Edge have even one example of hands doing anything delicate? No? It's irrelevant to what THIEF is, then.

It's ok jtr7...there is no point continuing a conversation with someone if they are not interested and/or are closed-minded...what a shame....:tsktsk:
jtr7 on 21/9/2009 at 02:15
I wish it was only lack of interest, rather than libelous.

I'm still not clear as to what these five-year-old myths are. I haven't been around here as long as you have, so obviously I lack some history that you're referring to.

Not really, if your single sentence could have been interpreted in many ways, which in my eyes, it could have been. If you want me to break it down linguistically, I'll give it a go :p.

I hope you're not implying that it was me, but if you are I guess I can't dissuade you from that opinion :erg:.
[Oh, I realise that that was about :p. For the record, I posted 'Fafhrd is right' in reference to his response to 'casual console games'. Incidentally, TimeCube is really amusing :p.]

I know why you're opposed now, but can we not discuss those opinions in depth without becoming hysterical?
This argument is on the verge (as it has been all along :p) of everyone ignoring the actual issue and trying to discredit everyone else. I regret posting it, though it's been fun.
