So I was playing through Thief 2 and I had noticed some books towards the end and middle of the game had corrupted texts. I reinstalled the game and they didn't fix themselves, and some books and scrolls seemed like they were unfinished when they should not have been. I suspect that my install media is corrupt, and I saw a post a few years back about a similar request but for FMs.
I was wondering if anyone could either direct me to or upload the books.crf file from Thief 2 for me so I could finally continue playing the game, as not being able to finish reading about the bandersnatcher hunt is eating away at the very fibers of my being!

That sucks.:( Is it a recently purchased copy? Hopefully it's an isolated incident.

I also remember coming across some unfinished scrolls and books in T2, most notably in the Casing / Masks missions, but a quick browse through the books.crf file shows that all the text is there... its just something about the formatting that makes it not show up in-game. You can also notice this in the TG lost city mission where they had to edit some of the text after removing the water talisman but ended up with a sloppy result.
On a side note there seems to be a lot of unused texts for the Casing / Masks missions that would really have fleshed out the levels' plot had they been included.

Hmmm. Is the text interrupted mid-page, or can you not turn pages?

It's interrupted mid page (as in there is only one page when clearly there should be more)
Edit: I should rather have said the text runs off the bottem of the page, but there aren't any other pages to turn to.
Edit 2: Okay so the TG example doesn't really apply here as it more of a botch up in terms of the flow of text as opposed to missing text.

It seems you're right. I've gotten ahold of some new install media and I see the same thing.

I'll have to bother a friend of mine and see if he still has his Thief 2 DVD (part of a demo pack with Deus Ex and some other games) to see if it's any different, but I won't get my hopes up. :(
