I imagine it's to show us stupid plebes who like stuff like Borderlands and Sonic and Fallout 3 and other stupid casual shit for dumb babies the light.

They're hoping to express their opinion? Justify it and get a dialogue going at least where there's some sort of balance of opinion achieved? Or is that too much to ask?
I honestly asked because I didn't know what the redeeming factor was. I hate GTA in general, for example, but I can see why people would love to tool around in its sandboxes. Unstructured play doesn't really appeal to me. Blands, though, just doesn't have a hook that I can relate to. Diablo with guns, sure, but Diablo possessed a visceral sense of carnage for me, and was set around a bunch of intimately dark environments. Diablo 2... not so much. I don't get anything out of Blands/Blands 2 except clunky shooting with hordes of boring enemies, so I'm kind of nonplussed that that is apparently what makes it good.

Ah, right, a dialogue. I totally misunderstood your posts as trolling, what with such lines as:
Quote:
...the writing for things like Tina and Claptrap tries so hard and is so egregiously awful it makes me physically ill.
...literally nothing in it evokes any reaction in me whatsoever except for boredom. It's called Blands for a reason.
Yup, sure looks like a good gambit for opening a dialogue.
Ok, you played it and didn't like it, fine. I don't have to justify enjoying it because, well, because fuck you? My tastes are different to yours, as I'm sure are many others and the high praise the series has received kinda reflects that. Does that make me superior to you or vice versa? No, so stop worrying about it and get on with your lives.

Yeah, well, I don't get the appeal behind Assassin's Creed and yet I'm perfectly fine with henke's defense of it over in the ACIV thread. You, clearly, are not fine with Jason's defense of Borderlands, and BR378239 takes it a step further by acting like he's so fucking smart for not liking it.

Interesting bit of psychology there. Unfortunately, psyche analaysis doesn't work when your basis for it is a bunch of cheap assumptions that reflect your own emotions instead of evaluating the actual content, so could you please join dethtoll in his prince albert shit rave mosh pit and save us the trouble? Thanks.

No, and I stated that that's fine, we have to stop it there. Which is ideally where it
should have, but you know, random angry internet men with vendettas.

What the hell are you talking about? This isn't psychology, this is just pointing out that no one in this thread is going to change your mind over this game if you've already played it and didn't like it. Ok, that's great, have a pat on the head and a lollipop. Now kindly bugger off and stop crapping in this thread.

Anyway, moving on.
I still need to play BL2 at some point. Maybe after I finish GTA.

I knew you'd respond with that, hah. :thumb:
But stay away from the unshielded magnets next time, mkay.
