:erg: Planet called Pandora, fabled alien artifact, Scythid Sprinters, Skags and Rakks. Combine the gushing enthusiasm and that's all I needed to hear.
In my opinion!

plot sounds very MassEffect to me.
I'm interested in how it plays out, how am I going to move, how fast, how high is my eyesight, will there be recoil and bulletdrop or do they go for arcade. right now 60.000 weapons does not do anything for me. in the end you always end with sidearm/range weapon/melee/nades. what else would you need ? how will the economy work/will there be any ? how consistent is the gameworld or are there seperated "bubbles" having no effect on each other....and so on and so on.
When they showed MOH:Airborne for the first time I thought it's gonna be awesome but having played it thru in 5 hours yesterday I know it's only slightly above mediocre.

It'll play out like any RPG if i understand them correctly. As you level up you'll find better weapons so you wont be stuck with like 1-2 good weapons from (almost) start to finish (like in stalker)..
I'm hyped, but i'm always hyped for open-ended and non linear FPS/RPG-hybrids :cheeky: The weapon bit isnt my favorite really, 1000-2000 weapons would be more than enough (like Oblivion or Two Worlds etc), but it's pretty cool if they succseed with it.

600,000 weapons?
I bet 10 dollars that when this game comes out, there will be only 20.
I'll bet against :cheeky:
20 would be considered as really, really low, at least if you would compare it to most RPG's.. Most RPG/FPS hybrids doesnt have many weapons so far though, but i cant see why they couldnt..

if you like that concept you must already have bought your lifetime subscription for HELLGATE:London, haven't you ?
because that game sounds fun and addictive (and you don't need the subscription, it's online part is basically free).

Yes i'm looking forward to try Hellgate London. I'm not quite sure yet what to think of it.

same here. interested, intrigued, looking forward but still not hyped and a little cautious. since I don't care about the online guild shit I don't need a subscription and will wait for reviews and a small price drop. too much games coming out that autumn/winter.

600 thousand is, in my opinion, an impossible thing to achieve. How the fuck can they put 600 thousand weapons into the game? And they say there is different ammo for each. . .
Even if they mean 600 thousand possible combinations of parts to put together the toys of death, it still sounds crazy.
I'll bet $15, by the way.

Nothing is impossible, it's just the developers and their l33t skillz that sets the limits :cheeky: All they need is an editor that randomizes different parts / features etc through a certain set of rules and puts it together. Then the editor will categorize the weapons according to what featues they have and how good they are. The engine will then spawn the different variations on enemies and in crates/whatever.
I'm not saying it's done exactly that way because i dont know how their editor/engine works, but i'm guessing its something like that.

Yeah many interesting games this winter, well, hopefully at least.
Watching the trailers for Hellgate on Gametrailers doesnt hype me the least. I really dont like the pink, purple and yellow weapon FX's together with the very dark atmosphere. It looks so extremely arcade, like those japanse shoot'em'ups with totaly vivid colors everywhere :erg: the animations looks like total crap, too.
