Well it's not like you can really grind in Borderlands, the XP penalty for level difference is quite drastic.

I missed all of the quests on the board and was only doing story quests.
I'm going back but some of them are trivial now.

Just finished the main campaign but I think I'm gonna take a break for a while before tackling the DLC because while it was great fun, I was getting a little bit of "shoot 'n' loot" fatigue in the end there.
Overall it was, like I said, great fun and the combat was some of the best shootin' I've played in quite a while. Some of the weapons, like the Boomstick, where ridiculous fun and smart design decisions like the non-stamina limited running and the fact you could jump more than 1 foot off the ground, kept it fast, fluid and more old-school than I expected. The various death animations and ludicrous gibs where also very welcome :ebil: The RPG stuff was well integrated, complementing rather than compromising the shooting and even if the driving in general was a bit nob, the initially rather odd controls turned out to be brilliant for easily running down enemies.
My only real issue, apart from a couple of nitpicks, is that they didn't make more of the world. It has atmosphere, to be sure, but it's a bit hollow and lifeless after a while. The surprisingly* humourous writing strikes the perfect tone but by not making the most of the rather excellent voice acting, a lot of that flavour doesn't come through as well as it could have. I think by having the likes of Scooter, Crazy Earl and Tannis at al voicing more, if not all, of their dialog, as well as a more general capitalizing on the games natural exuberance (like the title cards for the bosses), would have made this game pretty much perfect for me. What is the DLC like in this regard? On the surface they seem a little more characterful.
Anyway, I'm a big fan now and am very happy that Duke is now in Gearbox's hands.
* I say surprising as most of Gearbox's promotional material didn't really click with me.

What you described the game lacks. DLCs are so obviously content cut from the game it's not even funny. Too bad they also suck technically.

I did all the side quests before tackling Sledge. It was pretty easy in the end - I was lvl20 by then and they were all 18s or 19s.

Currently me, Tonamel and bob_doe_nz have a multi game going on sundays late evening (10 - 11 pm, Mexico City time....I foget if that's Central Time..). In case anyone wishes to pop up in on us. Mind you, we're currently around level 14 - 15, if memory serves.
Cheers :)

You just keep swinging and swinging blindly and you eventually end up breaking something.

Sorry brah, can`t help it. Bullying the bullies was always one of my favourite pastimes. Don`t worry thou, it gets tiresome fast.
(Look on the bright side, too. I finally started watching my apostrophes, and you put a nice sentence together. Good stuff, no?)
