i got crashes, ppl talking to ghosts, monsters standing around in the wasteland waiting for some trigger to fire, not to talk about the escorting missions where I had to reload a few times because the scientists got stuck on a coffee mug on the ground and so on ....
That's pretty much how it works for me too except the ghost talk which was replaced by more crashes. But people are probably sick of me and my F3 hating.

I was expecting an atmospheric open world, like a cross between Mad Max and Stalker. And now it's a comic-y shooter with cel-shaded graphics and silly text accompanying every action.
Went from a must-buy to a probably not. What a shame.

this looks super-cool, and it has 87 bazillion guns so I'm happy

But 4 player co-op sounds nice :)
Could be fun or very redundant which I can have in an mp game playing the same map over and over again as well......there was no trailer at all telling any "background/story" yet. that's certainly something I wanna have in a game I play, at least rudimentary. even doom had a story...somehow. I don't mind the look, could be worse. at least it's not all brown.

on vanilla i never had deathclaws outside megaton with low levels, the moment I hit a certain level they suddenly spawned there. Also finishing the Power of Atom very early gives you the Talon Mercs much earlier with much lower hp/armor in vanilla.
Yes, but the monsters DO NOT level with you like they do in Oblivion, their stats and load outs remain static. I.e. Raiders don't suddenly start wearing power armour and wielding plasma rifles like they would in Oblivion.

BAWWWW, NO GRIM DARK, NO SALE.
They likely thought that their game would likely be compared to Fallout 3 and Rage, hence the change in direction to differentiate themselves. How about you wait until the game is ACTUALLY OUT before passing any judgement? Also trailers can be just marketing bullshit, i.e. the Dragon Age ones with Manson advertising it to 13-year-old Xbox owners who jerk off to 300.
Aside from OTT gore factor and the general FO universe "stuff happens because of SCIENCE!" 1950's Sci-Fi kitsch, the Fallout 3 is a pretty straight-faced game that takes itself seriously. I.e. no fourth wall breaking.

Fallout's always been a bit OTT with the gore though. I'll always laugh when I specifically headshot someone and their little sprite's left ribs and arm get blown off in FO1. The little "gwuaaaagh!" sound makes it even funnier. And I'm not even using Bloody Mess- which is useless anyway but that's besides the point.

It was even better if you got that animation after punching someone.
Scots Taffer on 25/7/2009 at 09:32
Did I watch the same trailer as everyone else?
That looked utterly shit.
SubJeff on 25/7/2009 at 13:31
Exaggerate much?
Scots Taffer on 25/7/2009 at 13:56
What? I'm not allowed to think that something looks like utter shit?
It did.
To me.
