60 minutes of BB. Twice. Weltschmerz, I welcome thee!

And so all the pieces are in play for the end. It's great how they found a way to kick Jesse down and stomp his face in the mud one last time. I swear if the kid lives to the end of the show, he's gonna need about 20 years worth of therapy.

Yup. After 6 years of award after award for all the various actors, excellent payoff after excellent payoff, there's really honestly no way the ending can live up to the expectations it's set for itself.
...but I'm willing to be let down happily enough. I think what we all need right now, moreso than having our minds blown, is closure.
And yes, I did look that word up on the internet. :P

I can't believe there is only one episode to go. There isn't enough time. No pun intended.

Just my predictions for the finale since I got caught up with the show now...
See you all tomorrow.
Walt is going to get back his money from the NeoNazis by force, along with saving Jessie & some particularly bad end for Todd. Not sure if he/his family will get to keep the cash, but if they don't I think it will go into some good cause Walt would be okay with, as opposed to just confiscated or destroyed (which would not only make all his work mean nothing, but all our investment in watching too), though I could imagine some "poetic justice" way of it being disposed too. I can also imagine a card with "To Holly when she turns 18" situation too. I think there might be some kind of confrontation with Elliot & Gretchen. Flynn might see the NeoNazis confess to killing Hank, so he at least knows it wasn't his father.
Most importantly, I think there may be some kind of reconciliation between Walt & Jessie. The only way I think that could be possible at this point is if (1) Walt saves Brock's life from the NeoNazis & (2) Jessie saves Walt from getting caught. But it could come down to a showdown between the two also. I think Walt either has to get caught or die in the end, and I think Jessie skips town, to the Czech Rep maybe, to keep cooking.

Yeah, it's going to be like Jessie meets Primer at the end.

But it could come down to a showdown between the two also. I think Walt either has to get caught or die in the end, and I think Jessie skips town, to the Czech Rep maybe, to keep cooking. I think any ending that involves Walt achieving something approaching a real victory isn't gonna happen. Jesse might get a happy ending, but Walt? He'll get his victory. He'll do something audacious and/or horrific enough to secure his place in criminal history, but it'll ultimately be an empty, meaningless gesture. He'll destroy every connection, any lasting love, his family might have for him in the process of doing what he's about to do, and none of them will end up seeing a single dime of his money.
Watching Elliot and Gretchen lie away his legacy on national TV to distance the company from an alleged meth kingpin stirred one thing in him. It wasn't love for his family, or any other positive, redeeming emotions. He's too selfish and ego driven by this point. It was him realizing that a few years down the road, no one would know who Walter White was. He wants to do something that'll make everyone "Remember My Name"...appropriately, the subtitle of this season, and the one thing that has yet to be broached.
Lastly, someone close to Walt will die. Someone closer than Hank. His own flesh and blood. One thing I've realized while watching through the series is that, though you don't realize it at the time, it does an excellent job of broadcasting things that will happen later. Sometimes it's blatant. Sometimes subtle. But it's only noticeable when you're going through it a second time.
One thing that struck me as a potential hint is the scene when Jane's dad is picking an outfit for her to be buried in. He lays out a blue sweater on the bed, arms out, then it immediately cuts to the next scene, with Holly laying out in the same position of the screen, arms out. Either it's a horrific tease to keep us guessing, or it's foretelling her eventual fate.
Holly's death would be the one thing that'd make Walt realize everything he's done for the last two years was for nothing. She was born, and eventually died while he was stoking his ego in the meth business. He might win his legacy, but he'll lose everything he ever cared about in the process.
And he'll die alone and unloved, months after the closing shot.Watching the show from the beginning while going through the last 8 episodes has made me realize one thing. It's not supposed to be a semi-realistic story, it's a parable as much as it is a character study, in the form of the rise and fall of Walter White. It will not have a happy ending. What good is it for a man to gain the world at the price of his own soul? Walt won't realize the true meaning of that statement until it's too late for him to do anything about it.

That went entirely left field on me. It wasn't the ending I was expecting. Definitely not the ending the cast and crew were building it up to be. But honestly, it was probably one of the best sendoff you could ask for.
I expected a blaze of violent glory. What I got was a bittersweet hour of closure, with just the right amount of Heisenbergian manipulation and brinksmanship thrown in for good measure.

Well we know what is going to happen to the Whites due to walts manipulation of Elliot and Gretchen.
But we kind of have no idea what the hell is going to happen to Jesse. Is he off clean? As of right now, all the cops have on him is throwing a crap load of money away. Are the cops going to find his tape from Hanks house? or did Uncle Jack destroy it? If not, Jesse has lost everything just like Walt. He can't help Brock. The most we can hope for for Jesse is that Jack destroyed the tape, and Jesse can go back to his house and try to live a normal life. Either that or start cooking blue again, and I don't see that happening.
I kinda expected more of a bang, but bittersweet closure sounds about right to me too.
