Boris is anything but clueless.
He's dreadful, but don't be fooled by the masquerade. He's very smart, very calculating, and all the more dangerous for it.
Gray on 9/8/2019 at 13:58
I'll concede that he's not completely clueless in some aspects, but very severely clueless in others. For one thing, he is poison to Scotland because he understands nothing about it. Same with Wales and Northern Ireland, and I suspect everything else outside his privileged little sphere of white posh wealth. He was a disaster as foreign secretary because he did not understand any other cultures than his own. He's making the same mistakes much closer to home now. I'm afraid. Very, very afraid.

Sooo... Hard no deal Brexit, with the only question remaining being how Boris and crew are going to attempt to blame everyone but themselves for what they did? Right?
Gray on 9/8/2019 at 19:33
They will always blame the EU for not giving in to their ridiculous demands. It's always gonna be someone else's fault. Clearly not their own massive and obvious incompetence.

UK didn't pick BJ, their conservative party did.

Good point... nonetheless they're stuck with him for the moment, as it's how the rules of the road play out there.
We have different rules, sure, but we are still stuck with Trump like it or not. I certainly did not pick him nor if a Republican would I ever have voted for him in their primaries, but lo and behold he's my prez anyway.
C'est la vie... until the next time. Maybe things will look up for both countries next year. 2019 is certainly turning out to be an extended roller coaster ride over Brexit issues for the UK.

Is it? This time I'm the one speaking from across the ocean, but from this vantage, it looks like it's headed where it's been headed ever since the vote: Damn the
torpedoes North Irish, full speed ahead!

Yes, nobody who isn't a tory memeber actually voted for him, but they picked him because he's
popular. How can he possibly be? They talk about his charisma and character, but do these words mean something different than I'm used to? I have more charisma coming out of my rectum, and it doesn't smell half as bad as his stupid policies.

So what terrible things did Boris Johnson do ? Why do you talk about him like he's the White Devil ?
I understand that he's a conservative. That's bad in itself, but not necessary evil. He's done and said some clumsy things. He sometimes acts like a clown. Showing some self-mockery. I think that's a plus. So what evil things did he do ? Did he lock children in cages ? Did he applaud neo-nazis ? Does he do secret business with russians ? What exactly ?

It's just hard to imagine that someone that dumb can be elected into office.
I have two perspectives on that. First, it's important to remember that elections aren't "won" like sports games are won. Politicians don't necessarily win because they perform better (though that can certainly be part of it). They win because they're
chosen by sufficient numbers of the right voters. And Republicans
choosing a stupid clown? Well, they've been headed in that direction for a long time.
Second, a bit tongue in cheek this time... Donald Trump didn't
want to "win", and was obviously shocked and appalled when he did. So, think of it this way: Donald Trump almost always loses. This time he just lost at trying not to win.
