Lol. I'm glad I watched that.

This new season of Brexit strains credulity, frankly. The characters are way over the top and the plot twists are just ridiculous now. It's one thing to have a sci-fi show like they have over in the US, but for a British drama, it's just a bit too much.
Nicker on 6/9/2019 at 02:42
This always happens in a series. They keep piling on the sub-plots and when the network cancels, the writers have to wrap it up in a frenzied, senseless final episode. Maybe David Cameron will wake up and realise it was all a very, very bad dream. Then Edward Heath will walk out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and ask, "What were you screaming about, Darling"?

I'm fine with that. Can we make that happen sooner rather than later? I can even dig a ditch if needed. I can buy a spade tomorrow. I want to help our posh clueless twat of a prime minister as much as I can to achieve his ultimate goal. Maybe his brother Jo will help me dig it. I'll even buy a spade for Rachel and Stanley if they want one.
For the lawyers: metaphorically. I'm not advocating his death, just of his stupid ideas and hopefully his political career. There is such a thing called sarcasm, and I'm plagued by it. Don't put me on the terrorist watch list, I'm not worth the bother.

Tell us what you think, Mr. Pie.
This guy is all played out. I was sick of him ages ago. 75% of what he says is nonsense, irrelevant or actually prejudiced. School ties? So what?

If Pie is played out, at least he is entertaining, unlike some dogeared opinionators COUGHsubjeffCOUGH!

I'm not sure what's entertaining about him. He just shouts angrily. The first few times it's quite novel, as he's pretending to be a reporter who is ranting to the cameraman/crew in between reports. But if you're in the UK you've seen him N times and it's not only no longer novel, it's entirely predictable.

Some people enjoy the "ranting angrily at a camera" style, others don't. Youtube personalities like Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd owe their careers to those who like that style.

I am so pleased that
The Mash Report is back, to clarify exactly what a horrible mess we're in. Favourite segment in (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4kcY3tZP-0) this week's episode: WTF? It starts at 23:28. Not that you should ignore the other bits, the whole show is gold, every single episode is, it's like we finally got our Daily Show, and our Jon Stewart is the equally hilarious Nish Kumar. If not funnier.
"There
is no parliament, Tom."
[Edit]
Ahir Shah's bit about the final season of the UK is also spot on and almost annoyingly clever. Unfortunately. I so wish it wasn't.
[Edit again]
I'd like to clarify. I watched a
lot of the Daily Show, and I absolutely loved it. But, I'd argue that The Mash Report is even more clever, more sarcastic, more spot on and somehow also more informative. It's like they distilled the best bits of the Daily Show and made them better. I've watched every episode of The Mash Report since s1e1, and they consistently boil events down to their logical nuggets, pick them apart and point out how ridiculous they are, in a way that the Daily Show mostly did but they also had added pointless fluff like Jon Stewart being annoyingly sycophantic to his favourite guest of the day, whatever actor had a movie out. Mash doesn't do that. They have Rachel Parris being clever instead. And given how extremely weird UK politics have been in the last three years, let alone this month, or even this week, we do need someone to point out how insane it has become. As much as I love Mock the Week and Have I Got News, they can't match the level of The Mash Report. Up your game and prove me wrong.
[Edit yet again]
I just realised a logical flaw in my above argument. The Daily show was, you guessed it,
daily. Four nights a week at least, some times five, 22 minutes plus ads. Almost all year. The Mash Report is 30 minutes a week, six episodes for six weeks, then nothing for months and months. You could argue that the Daily Show had more accumulated substance, but I'd argue that the potency of The Mash Report is stronger. Or at the very least, much more relevant to us Britons.
