I don't know The Mash Report at all. Love the first 5 minutes but unfortunately I've got to go and do some work. I'll definitely be watching the rest of it later though. Thanks.

Well Mash Report is on BBC iPlayer, the two episodes of the new series, and highlights from previous seasons. I tend to record the show as it's on, and I find it to be very difficult to delete the recordings, it's just too damn funny to be deleted. I still have shows from two years ago, and they're STILL current and apt. In fact, some of it even gets funnier with time, the worse of a mess we get ourselves into, the more clever they seem.

One can only hope that they manage to kick that guy out of office.

Okay, let's summarise what's been going on lately:
* the Supreme Court says the PM's decision to suspend parliament has been unlawful
* the PM comes back at the newly reconvened parliament with what could essentially be summarised as "NO U"
* in very much the same breath, the PM says the best way to honour the legacy of an MP who campaigned for Remain and who got murdered by a far-right extremist (which side of the political spectrum is mostly Leavers) is to... Leave; were there a god of logic he would have wept there and then
* following the ensuing indignation of MPs in reaction to both of the above, the posh-twat best buddy of the PM has told the MPs to watch their tongues
* meanwhile, several major political figures as well as quite definitely non-fringe newspapers have reacted to the decision of the court with "how DARE those courts tell what is lawful for the PM to do!". Apparently the system of checks and balances between the legislative, the executive and the judicial branches of a democratic government is not a thing done in the UK
* the Queen has done what she usually does i.e. bugger all
I SO much want to leave this bloody country here and now. And before some plonker says "then why don't you": a) unfortunately such pesky nuisances as family make it complicated, and b) I am making preparations nevertheless.

Note that it will become more difficult to leave the country when and if a no-deal Brexit occurs.

MPs spending their time arguing like children fighting over who gets to use the green spoon to eat their dinner today is nothing new or unexpected.

This bit I do find rather odd though. I would suspect that most people who disagree with the judgement haven't actually read it.

That feels a bit Trumpian to me and not normal. I've not yet read much about it other than headlines so perhaps I should start doing some reading.

That's what she's supposed to do. I used to be rather anti-royal. Older age has led me to an appreciation of what a shit-awful job she's got.

It's (
https://t.co/59gGZg0Chm?amp=1) here if you want to read it. 25 pages but most of it is setting out the background of the whole thing and making sure it's easily understandable to those who read it (hopefully pretty much everyone)

What amuses me are all the people who now say that this is the court trying to stop Brexit, having previously argued that the prorogation had nothing to do with Brexit.
