The Thief community is large and dedicated. The fan film route hasn't really been explored. We have a more purist view of how a film should be done. The Thief community should pull their resources together and make some films. Have people focus on the writing. Something totally purist, amazing, not dumbed down. Get some scripts made. Post them online. Have other people give opinions, write other drafts, until that we think we've got it. Long story short, something great could be done if work, effort, and teamwork were put into it. I am a small independent filmmaker from WA, I am a huge fan of Thief, I've won a local film fest. I've already done a dark medieval piece. So if your thinking money will be an issue, there are ways around it. I shot one with only spending a few hundred bucks. It looked competely believable. Cinematography and atmosphere are my things. I know screenwriters as well for editing/opinions. This can be done. And if this starts to pick up and the film or films end up being amazing which they could/should be, and start to get noticed. Then we should even go as far as going to Eidos about it and seeing about permission to take something further with some sort of official fan film or getting permission + rights an independent film that could be put in fests. Anyway I REALLY want to hear what you guys think about this. This can be done.

Well the the film fest we won is the 72 hour film competition held by the Grand Cinema.
This...(http://www.grandcinema.com/events.php?id=12) shows what the event is and the criteria and our film was called In Focus which is mentioned here...
(http://weeklyvolcano.typepad.com/spew/film/index.html) But the film itself is at my friends myspace who owns his own small production co. in L.A. Go to my space and look up "More Importantly Productions" the short is on his space on the main page. But the dark, medieval short we did isn't anywhere online. It isn't quite finished yet. It is in the hands of a score composer in Seattle. But my stats aren't really what I was trying to make discussion about. I want to here what the Thief Community thinks about maybe making this process or idea come alive. And of course I would love to be involved with that filmaking-wise as well as with writing.

I apologize for the comment. I' m just excited to see fans in their area of talent come together and reinvent the "fan film".
A combination of writers, filmakers, storyboard artists, digital artists(rotoscopers, background,CG), foley artists, music artists, etc. - to make serious, good, a.k.a "films"

sounds good aslong as it dosen't end up as just another one of those cheesy films. keeper Jonas has some ideas...

I'm totally with you on that. That's why I'm proposing the idea. If it is going to be then I wouldn't do it, not until it can do THIEF justice. If you know anyone else who might want to get involved please list them. I would like to hear what they have to say.

What about a Thief musical, with Liza Menilli doing the sound track? :cheeky:

That's a great idea! Uwe Boll should direct.
